So when was your first time?

This month sees the release of the 100th story to be released as part of the Big Finish's main 'Doctor Who' range, so I thought it would be a interesting question to ask in a community dedicated to Big Finish love and appreciation when did you first come listen to Big Finish, what was the story, et cetra.

I am afraid I am one of these dull sorts who has pretty much been listening from the beginning; my purchase of 'The Sirens of Time' being delayed for awhile back in 1999 due to the constraints of student finance at the time but eventually getting around to purchasing it at Nottingham Forbidden Planet alongside the newly released 'Phantasmagoria'. Being the geek I am, both plays were greedily consumed in one sitting. It was new proper Doctor Who with the actors and everything, not the ersatz stuff like the Stranger, the Professor (as enjoyable as those were) but prpoer Doctor Who.

Of course a few weeks later 'Whispers of Terror' was released and there was absolutely no question of me waiting for a new Six and Peri story, my favourite TARDIS team from the television series. And the following months and years were to bring delights like the debut of Evelyn Smythe, the Daleks in 'The Genocide Machine' and a little bit of news in DWM about some chap called Paul McGann agreeing to appear in four plays in 2001, 'The Spectre of Lanyon Moor',  hearing Sylvester McCoy and Lisa Bowerman breathe life into the Doctor and Bernice summerfield team in 'The Shadow of the Scourge', 'The Holy Terror', 'Storm Warning',  Charley Pollard, 'The Chimes of Midnight', 'Seasons of Fear', 'Spare Parts', writers like Rob Shearman and Joseph Lidster, Erimem, Doctor Who Unbound and so on.

Yes, there have been disappointments along the way but  when has anything in life been perfect and one hopes having reached one hundred they will not be stopping anytime soon.
