The rest of my stress filled weekend
So I had to deal with potential bedbugs and artist problems this past week and weekend, so what else went terribly wrong?
On Saturday I went to the Germanfest I go to every summer, this time with my family. Here's the problem: When I got there the place was packed and it was a long line to get in. Like, almost an hour wait time. The thing that pissed me off the most about that is that the other three days they had the event, it was quiet, but my family didn't want to go. They instead picked the last day this year, the day EVERYONE ELSE picked, when it was insanely busy. Had they chosen one of the other, less busy days, it probably would have been less stressful.
As it was, I spent maybe 2 hours enjoying the food and beer, and the night wasn't entirely wasted. However, I still think the German polka music sucks. You want German Music? This. Is. German. Music.
At work that night, the truck that delivers our papers broke down. I had plans to get up early and go to the Renaissance Festival with a bunch of furs, and those plans looked like they were going down the shitter. I was on pins and nails until the papers showed up in several company delivery vans.
Some guy kicks one of the carts and I tell him to calm down, and someone else tells me to shut it. Then I was telling another co-worker jokingly that he missed the fun, and cart kicker told me to shut the fuck up, and the other person who told me to shut up said if I didn't shut it there would be trouble. These guys are middle-aged guys older than me and they can't control their anger? God this job sucks. (I think the irony here is usually I'M the one being pissy and angry, and I was just relieved the damn papers finally showed up).
And the kicker was finding out that my college just built a new video game center, where the gaming club will meet, but you have to be a registered student to use. I graduated a while ago. I guess being alumi doesn't count unless I make mad donations to the school in the tune of millions of bucks. The gamer club will also have tabletop gaming on other days and at least I can attend that. But man, not being able to use that gaming center is a big stab to the gut for me. :/
