There may be bed bugs in my apartment?
Okay, just to clear things up, I do NOT have bed bugs in my apartment. At least, I have not seen any signs of them.
About a month or so ago, some of the apartments on the second floor had bed bugs, and 2-3 of them were sprayed. Our first floor apartments were left alone.
Last week, in a common area about 30 or so feet from my door, the manager found a single bed bug, or what he thought was a bed bug. Not sure if it was dead or alive, but maybe it fell off stuff when they were cleaning out those rooms upstairs.
So now he wants to inspect my apartment, and it's irritating me. Not only because I have seen no signs of the bug, but also because I have to clean up in order for him to do it. As far as I'm aware, he only has to search the baseboards and corners. But he's been expecting me to clean up my apartment, which it probably needs anyway.
Problem was, he wanted it clean in 2 days, over the weekend I was busy, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to clean it in that time. I however made a very good effort of it and was able to clean most of it. He came in Monday and told me he wasn't inspecting that day, but seemed unimpressed with my significant effort and gave me boxes to put my stuff in.
There's not a lot, besides a few things, I can do to clean it even more.
I have this feeling he's just being a neat freak. Back when he almost got into a fight with me, it was over a mess out in the common areas he thought I had made. He flips out whenever he sees the smallest mess. His own apartment is spartan and bare, and I've heard him gossip with other tenants that people like me have too much shit.
I have no problem cleaning up, and I have, but I feel like this guy is imposing his OCD neat-freakness onto me. Just because he likes a bare spartan apartment doesn't mean I have to conform to his ideals. It doesn't help my apartment is tiny.
I just hope we can get this shit over with and he can stop complaining about my organized mess, or go the fuck away. I don't want to have to get the legal system involved over a battle on what I can or can not have in my apartment.
