What a great way to begin the month of May. By finally getting Osama Bin Laden. Almost 10 years after 9/11. Yep, ten years. It's about damn time.
Is that like how it took over 10 years for Peter Jackson to make the Hobbit movies?
I think I like the Facebook community called "How the US outdoes the royal wedding." Seriously. I cared little for the Royal Wedding and turned it on for a minute, while some priest droned on about Jesus and stuff in a droll manner. Then I got bored.
Back to Bin Laden. I don't think this will totally end Al-Qaeda. It may disrupt them and dishearten some of them, and they may get smaller. But it won't end them. He was more of a figurehead now. It certainly won't end the wars we're in. I think this is proof that we never needed to go into Iraq in the first place. And maybe we didn't even need to go into Afghanistan. Maybe we should have just sent in special forces in the first place.
But some conservatives are praising Bush over this, even though Bush had little to do with it. If anything we should be praising the special troops for being awesome and kicking ass. In any case, who expects Obama to be a shoo-in for 2012? Anyone? Eh?
Something that's been bugging me is the people who are getting angry that people are celebrating and gloating over Obama's death. People saying he deserved a fair trial and saying that if you're happy he's dead you're no better than he is.
Dude, let people gloat. This guy had no problem killing people for his extremist religious views, and wanted to turn the entire world into a fundie Islamic state where extreme religious views would be enforced by fear of death and torture, and all because he was butthurt over being kicked out of Saudi Arabia. He was a religious nutjob, a fundie, a murderer, and a bigot. I, for one, am happy he is gone off this planet, and wish people like him would leave this planet as well, if by necessary using force. As one who is furious over religious tyrants, I am going to celebrate his leaving. And I will let others have their one moment of happiness in this shitty world.
I will remember this day. The day I was sitting at home watching SG1 and saw a ticker saying that Obama was going to make an address, and then around 10:35p the news channels started reporting the news.
I am also going to remember that the Apprentice got cut short for the news of this. Trump is a greedy ass anyway, and I tired of his birther bullshit.
