Well, if it helps, I'm not actually madly in love. I'm not sure why. But I'm still in a good and exciting relationship that I don't want to end. The same goes for him though, so that works out. :3
I agree with you, it's not so much love as lust on first sight, haha.
Being in love feels awesome and great, but it can also cause a lot of agony and sadness. In that way, I don't really miss it - I tend to become a lot more unstable and obsessed when in love. I'm not sure what's going on now, but it's like I'm skipping the crazy teenager phase altogether. And that's fine by me.
Well that's the kind of relationship I wouldn't mind either. I don't have to be madly in love, just enjoying the company and deep friendship of that other person. Certainly it may take a bit to get into that kind of relationship but it would be worth it.
Doesn't help that every female I know IRL is taken, lol.
How long did you know your boyfriend before you started dating him? And what prompted you to ask him out (if you did)?
Me and my boyfriend met at a party from mutual friends in December 2009. I think we instantly had a sort of click, like, I noticed him and he noticed me and we both had a "hey... you're interesting" thing.
But then, I was still having a date or two with this other guy, and wanted to see how that worked out. It didn't work out, but thén I got sick and had to go into surgery and felt really bad for a few months. I kept hearing from friends that he kept asking about me, though. :D So eventually we had our first date in July. Even then things didn't take off, I was busy and angsty about finding a graduation job. We finally got together in October, ha.
I'm not sure I asked him out as much as I just kept pursuing him at a slow pace. It was clear we were both interested but it took us a while to go through all the steps to get to making out. :P
At this point we're not in love but we do have mad chemistry. Things might change if either of us falls in love.. with the other, or with someone else. But until then, it's go with the flow. :3

Sometimes when I see a beautiful girl these days, I have to catch my breath and force my eyes to focus.
