My fucked up Halloween
For Halloween I will not be going to any parties. If I were, I'd want to dress up like the demon cenobite Pinhead from Hellraiser, a $30 mask or a $150 costume.
Instead, I am going to the anime convention "Youmacon" in Detroit. And it's looking like it's going to be less fun and more fucked.
First off, I can't find anyone to cover my shift for that weekend. The guy who used to do my route called asking to have his job back, and the boss gave me his phone number to call him, and he hasn't responded (IF the boss gave me the right number). Since I deliver papers I have to do this at all times, if I don't someone else has to do it and other people don't want to cover for me, even though I offered a bonus in addition to the money they'd get that day, AND a map showing the location of all customers.
So, if I do not get it off, I will still go to the convention, but I WILL NOT GET ANY SLEEP.
Second, I wanted to go as Gendo. An easy enough costume IF YOU CAN FIND THE COAT, which I can't. No coats nowadays have stand up collars like this. The coat would be easy to decorate to match his. The only places I can find coats like this is online for +$100. I have checked dozens of thrift shops and have had no luck.
My friend was doing Ichigo's dad from Bleach, and had I known I might have done Ichigo, but still it would require an orange wig and black martial arts outfit.
So, I will probably NOT be cosplaying, and I won't be getting any sleep. Let's hope I can actually enjoy myself this Halloween.
