I'm currently playing in a $10+1 rebuy tournamnet on Stars. I'm never sure if I should do an initial rebuy (1500 chips for $10). My general plan is to get in cheap, play ultra tight to the addon and then take the addon (2000 chips for $10). However the players are really bad initally and many of them rebuy when they first sit down. I often double up and many of those times I would double up my 3000 chip stack instead of my 1500 chips stack. That's clearly worth the extra $10. Like just now -- someone I had pegged as a very loose player raised a bunch of limpers blinds were 10-20 he raised to 120. I went allin for 1500 with KK. He called with 88.
Also doing well at the sit&go. Played in 3 $15+1 and got 2nd place in one of them (which almost exactle covers the entry fee for all three). I played in two $25+1 and got first in one which pays $125.
That was my first time to play in a $25 sit and go. The players were much better than the $15 but I felt I was superior. One story -- two players in front of me limp, I'm on the button. I raise the pot with ATo. This might have been the first hand I played in the 30+ hands that had been dealt so I was really expecting to buy it. One player reraised me allin. I decided I had odds to call. He showed 88. When I caught an ace he went ballistic. I guess the $25 tournaments aren't high enough to weed out people who go on tilt.
