His anger stems from Brody being a national hero with all this attention and what about all the other vets who got just as fucked up?
I can definitely understand that, although it’s not like it’s Brody’s fault. But saying that he and the others wanted to bend Jess over and fuck her up the ass - saying this at her home, no less - is just beyond the pale. I don’t care how drunk or damaged he is, that’s just not cool. So yeah, he’s an asshole, IMO. He maybe be an asshole with understandable gripes, but if that wasn’t a dick move, I dunno what is! I didn’t recognize him from GK, but I’ve only seen it once and there were so many characters.
I think Brody not sleeping with Jess was for lots of reasons. With Carrie, he knows she understands what it’s like “over there” and he doesn’t have the love/affection for her that he does for Jess, so it’s just easier to let the aggression out. And did they ever. :D
So excited for next week! I’ll be making dolphin noises along with you. :D

Oh you're right, this was absolutely a dick move with no excuses. I can just see where it came from is all. Plus, Gunny Wynn! I see him and I feel all these feelings and they color how I feel about the character even though I know logically one has nothing to do with the other.
All of your points are valid and I agree with all of them. I love seeing your posts and reading how you saw things and then being able to go "Did you see what I see? How did our interpretations mesh and how did they differ?" Man it's great having someone to discuss a show with! I used to just sit in a corner and stew. Hooray for the internets!
The show just gets better and better every week. I flove Brody/Carrie. They're screwed up and totally dysfunctional but it's awesome!
I don't know if Saul is the mole but I do know that I don't trust him. There's just something about him that seems off to me. And even if the woman fingers Brody next week, can she be trusted? If, say, Saul or someone else in the CIA is the mole, they could have told her to accuse Brody. Aw, the drama!
I realllly hope that that’s what they’re doing - trying to convince us that it is Brody, but Saul or another mole is manipulating the facts. Because I need Brody in S2!
Such a great show. More people need to be watching it, because they are missing out!
Ugh, I was really disappointed in the sex. I mean, not the sex itself. It looked acceptable. But WHY when there is a woman in the mix does it always, always mean there will be sex? If Carrie was a male character this cat and mouse would play out in some other way and would be just an interesting and awesome. But of course, she has a vagina so she has to use it.
Still love the show, just ugh about this particular development.
Normally, I would agree with you, but I feel that in that case the show has done a lot to show that Carrie uses her sexual allure to manipulate men and uses casual, anonymous sex to self-medicate so I have been expecting her to have some fucked up sex with Brody from the get go. I think it works here much better than on any other show I've seen.
That was so nerve-wracking! I shouldn't watch this show right before I go to bed because my adrenaline is through the roof!
I totally agree that Brody knew Carrie was back there, and it's clear he knew who was asking the question. It is making me wonder a bit about him being turned, though, because if he has been he wouldn't make it so obvious to her that he can beat a polygraph, right? I can't wait to see where they take this.
And I'm beyond ecstatic that they keep flinging Carrie and Brody together because those two have chemistry through the roof!

This is what I think/hope, too. But then I wonder if I'm deluding myself because I like him and feel for him and think he deserves better than to have been turned.

Of course, one wonders if this would have been an aspect of her character if she was a man. So I definitely get the ugh!

I thought the same! I love how they keep us guessing. And yes, the Brody/Carrie chemistry is fantastic!
