Canadian teenaged angst

Degrassi S10 is awesome. Probably my fave season yet. With the move to MuchMusic, they've glammed the proceedings up a bit (without losing the earnestness) and most importantly, have hired good actors. Love the new kids (except skanky Bianca, whom I'm sure has some inner turmoil we'll learn about soon). Eli, the goth-ish (heavy on the "ish") kid is ( Read more... )

This season has completely sucked me in! I`m just sad that we wont be getting 4 eps a week starting next week.

I know, I've gotten very used to always having it on my TiVo! But it makes sense come fall to go back to once a week since there's a lot of other shows on to compete with.

Hear Hear!

BUT loving the twins from original Degrassi IS something to be ashamed of! UGH.

I like this season too, but I am hating on Ally, she's getting more and more phony as the show progresses. now, please help me with this, the person who is the step brother of Adam, was he not the same person who tried to make quarterback by blackmailing riley? or am I just wrong?

Since they intorduced Adam as Adam instead of Gracie/Adam, I find that the boi look seems better done, before it seemed kinda obvious that Adam may have been a girl. Maybe I just noticed that.

Bianca is a bitch and I'm over her and have been since day 1!

I'm not engaged in Claire and you're right about Eli, he's goth but what part of it? A hearse, ok, I would drive that and I don't identify as goth at all..

I'm curious what will happen with the surogate of Simpson..I forget his name, but I like that storyline right now.

Also, I want more hot and "cool" people to be wearing glasses!

LOL, I remember seeing the twins from the original show on the streetcar in high school. We pointed and whispered and mocked their jeans, which were rolled up and that wasn't cool.

Yep, Drew was the jerk who threatened to out Riley. I also remember reading in the pre-show press that Adam's stepbrother would be homophobic and unsupportive. My theory is that they did a 180 on Drew's character after the first two episodes when they realized how talented and appealing the actor is. Because clearly Drew is not homophobic and is super sweet to Adam. Also, when he thought Wes the dweeb was hitting on him, Drew just told him he was barking up the wrong tree and wasn't mean about it or bothered at all.

And all the way with Stephanie Kay..During my Moffatt days there was a fangirl nicknamed Stephanie K, just because of her off lipstick, teased hair and a hair clip..oh my.

I read that too about Adam's brother, and was totally WTF when they introduced them together, I figured something would happen soon enough or something, but I def like the supportive brother better.

I hate how all the "nerds" wear glasses. HATE.

And boilingpoint, not a shocker that the episode was a HUGE let down.

I am seriously loving this season myself. I think it's great. I like Eli, and judging from the previews there is some major-dramarama coming up with him, so hopefully it's good.

And I like Drew. I thought he was just a homophobic idiot douche-canoe, and as it turns out, he is the complete opposite of all of that. He and Adam are so awesome together. I'm just waiting for Riley to come out so he and Zane can finally date in public.

Drew has totally become my favourite, which is so unexpected. Loved how when he thought Wes was hitting on him, Drew just told him he was barking up the wrong tree and wasn't mean at all. They really did a 180 on him from the first two eps, but I'm very glad they did.

Zane is terrific and I love the actor. The guy playing Riley is so sweet, but not the most talented of the bunch. Still, I love that storyline.

Loooove Eli. Again, great actor.

I have been a fan of the Degrassi series since the original.

I kept reading about Riley's storyline and knew I had seen him with Zane, but couldn't figure out where the new season was, until I stumbled across ads for it on MuchMusic. Catching up with the series this week.

I'm proud to be a Degrassi fan. *shrugs* It's usually intelligent TV, which I don't see a lot of. It has teens playing teens and deals with real life situations. I'm also proud that it is Canadian made. :)

I usually enjoy Degrassi and watch here and there. I didn't really like the opening movie but have enjoyed the episodes of the season I have seen. I generally focus on ones that sound interesting. I thought the episodes focusing on Adam/Gracie were extremely well done and the second one totally broke my heart.

However how did I miss that her stepbrother was Drew (he seemed taller in those episodes) the same person who was going to out Riley so he could play quarterback. Did I miss something?
