I've uploaded some songs that I've been hitting repeat on a lot lately. The songs vary wildly, as I have very eclectic taste in music, as in most things in life.
1.
Wham! -- Wham Rap! Please note that both exclamation marks are key. This is a fantastically cheesy ode to the joys of youthful laziness and unemployment.
2.
Carl Orff -- Carmina Burana: O Fortuna Whenever I'm feeling a little drowsy at my desk, I turn this up on the iPod for a blast of adrenaline. Nothing like some rousing opera mid-afternoon.
3.
Bob Seger -- Hollywood Nights Classic from -- is it the '70s? I just love this song. Both wistful and danceable.
4.
Mobile -- Dusting Down the Stars Really pretty song by a young Canadian band. A little melancholy, but not depressing.
5.
Eurythmics vs. Eminem -- Sweet Dreams/Without Me One of my fave mash-ups; the two songs work perfectly.
6.
Juice Newton -- Love's Been a Little Bit Hard On Me Very upbeat and great to sing along to whilst cleaning. I enjoy rediscovering '80s songs that you really don't hear anymore.
7.
Plain White T's -- Hey There Delilah I know it's overplayed by now, but this song is just so wistful and lovely, and it makes me smile. I love the line, "Times Square can't shine as bright as you." I know, I'm a sap.
8.
Rihanna -- Don't Stop the Music I loved this song instantly. Great Michael Jackson backbeat and it puts a spring in my step.
9.
Sea Wolf -- I Made a Resolution This was the song playing on Friday Night Lights when Matt and Carlotta first had sex (and then it played under the following scenes, too). It's wistful (do you sense a theme in some of these songs?) and sad, but most of all hopeful, and I adore it.
10.
Hairspray cast -- You Can't Stop the BeatWhen Tracy crashes the show and Linc shakes off the shackles of his bitchy girlfriend and bounds over to Tracy to dance and sing with her, it fills my heart with SO MUCH JOY. This song makes me want to skip down the street.
Enjoy! Let me know what you think if you download anything. :)
