Oh My God

Eddie Guerrero. 1967-2005

Eddie Guerrero, one of my favourite wrestlers and one of the brightest spots on the WWE roster, has passed away.

I still can't believe this. Gary and I were just talking about how he'd most likely be winning the World Championship on Smackdown last night.

This really is a terrible loss. Eddie Guerrero was one of my favourite wrestlers. He was a true inspirational success stories, someone who battled seemingly inescapable demons. He went from being released by WWE in 2001 to cleaning himself up, coming back with a passion seen by few others and even winning the WWE Championship for his efforts.

As a face, Eddie would touch your heart and make you believe in him. As a heel, he could make you HATE him with a fury. Not for too long, though; he could never really stay heel. People just loved him too much.

Thank you, Eddie. Thank you for the years of memories, for always giving it your all, for always going out of your way to make whatever you were involved with seem special. The list of great matches, storylines, promos, angles, etc. that you were involved in is too long for me to even attempt to list right now. Thank you so much. Everytime I question why I enjoy wrestling, it's people like you that remind me of why I love it so much, and why I always will.

God bless you, Eddie.

The flame of the "Latino Heat" will never, ever extinguish.
