Dingle berries... we all know one. clinging to that parent or significant other for dear life.. basing every discussion on the opinions and actions of that one special person. the mama's boy (or girl) of the shit family, but Dingle berries do have a dark side and are known for their jealousy and sudden bursts of anger and violence though the life of a Dingle berry may seem meaning less, it does have its upsides... usually death.
What Kinda Shit Are You?
Speaking of that, watching a really good film is like taking a nice shit. I watched Midnight Skater last night, and I was in a good mood all day as a result. The film (which I purchased as part of one of those cheapie $7 box set from Best Buy) boasts bad acting, horrible camerawork, incredibly fake gore effects and there's a scene in there that will no doubt offend many, many people.
That all being said, I loved it. It was incredibly fun. I loved all of the characters and the film made me genuinelly laugh on many different occasions. I was actually excited to be watching it, and wanted to watch more work from the writers/directors (the brothers Campbell). It's good to see brothers with a degree of competence (fuck off, Polonias) make movies that are a blast to watch.
I would go as far as to call it the best film I've seen as part of a Brentwood set. Most of the movies I've seen on those have been utter shit, but this proves something that Gary and I were recently discussing. The movies on the sets are usually homemade, DIY, and not very famous, so you never know what you're going to get. Yes, I had to wade through a load of crap, but watching a movie like Midnight Skater, even with all its flaws, makes the journey worth it and makes the film itself even better.
What's more, I watched Demon Summer (one of their other films) on Sunday, and found it to be almost as enjoyable. In fact, I noted some similarities between the two. The films have a lot of characters in it, but manage them fairly well; many of the same actors and actresses pop up; the same actress has (laughably simulated) anal sex in both movies.
So, yeah, I'll be buying more cheap film sets in the future, because of the efforts of the Campbell brothers and because of a MASTERplan Gary and I have.
And that's it. I'm off to start the Halloween series!!!
