- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - I finished it finally! It was hilarious! Zombies and ninjas and kung fu action Elizabeth Bennet. I can't wait to get my hands on Sense and Sensablity and Sea Monsters.
- This post from egl - ENVY THY NAME IS ERICA.
- Being unabashedly nerdy - The fam was stressing me earlier today, so I thought I'd go to the mall and get a book and escape for a bit but instead I was strangely drawn to Hot Topic (strange because there is nothing in that store that I want). I milled about for a while sighing slightly over the amount of Twilight stuff and the lack of anything remotely Ravenclaw related in their Harry Potter display and was about to leave, when the cashier practically man-squeed, began flailing excitedly and pointing at my shirt asked,"Where did you get THAT?!?!?". I was wearing my Gambit shirt that Richard Bowers (the Republican kid) gave me back in high school. I had to let the poor guy down hard, explaining that it had been a gift from friend, but instead of being sad he struck up a conversation with me about X-men for about 20 minutes. I think it may have been the only time I've ever out-nerded a guy on a topic we were both familiar with. Uusually I run into individuals whose nerdiness is not complimentary, like they want to talk about some raid they were apart of on WoW and Iwould rather discuss the homages to Miyazaki present in Avatar: the Last Airbende. All in all it was enjoyable and then I went to Borders and stood with X-men Noir in one hand and the first 3 issues of Ouran in the other like crap I want both but, in the end got a milkshake.
- "Un bel di vedremo" from Madame Butterfly - I have no idea what prompted me to look this song up last night. It's up there with "O mio babbino caro" and "Der Holle Rache" as far as my favorite opera songs that I'll never ever be able to sing. Here it is performed by Leontyne Price who I love. I love her voice. She's one of the few sopranos whose high notes don't make my neckbones twist.
