So I got this idea from Gala Darling's blog iCiNG and thought I'd give it a try myself. It's about appreciating the things in life -no matter how trivial or small or "lame"- for the sheer fact that they make you happy, so here is my list for today.
- The Addams Family movie. The first one. I haven't watched this movie in a while and I forgot how much this movie rocks. So many great lines. The outfits are amazing and I want to sew now badly. The ballroom scene is probably my favorite scene in any movie ever. Above everything else though that movie makes me want to fall in love. Morticia and Gomez are my favorite fictional couple. "To lose you would be true torture. To die alone, only that would be death" *swoons*
- Fanfic based on anthropomorphic representations of Lolita brands. Seriously, if you guys missed Once More With Poof you are really missing out.
- Marie Antoinette: A Journey by Antonia Frasier. This is the biography that the most recent version of Marie Antoinette was based off of and like the movie (well, the movie attempts but, doesn't exactly follow through on) presents MA as a victim of circumstance. This book really changed my opinion of Marie. I've long thought of her as the villainess that history has classically portrayed her as, but after reading this book, I really can't say MA committed any crime other than being frivolous and if that is any reason to execute someone than someone should nuke the US. I admire her for her strength. She stood by her husband until the day he was executed, stood strong and composed as her entire country turned against, somehow retained her sanity as her close companions were executed, didn't let the rumor mill shake her and faced the jury in a manner totally contrary to the popular belief that she was a total airhead, even after the jury turned her own son against her. MA is cool in my books, but then again I have a soft spot in my heart for demonized women (don't get me started on Joan of Arc)
- Amish Cinnamon Cake. Labor intensive, but delicious.
- Au Revoir by Malice Mizer. I was (and in many ways still am) a Malice Mizer fan. However I got into them Klaha era (Garnet, Beast of Blood, Gardenia) and it's only been really recently, when I've gotten back into J-rock that I've checked out anything from Gackt or Tetsu era MM. Au Revoir is from Gackt era MM so it's a bit more poppy, but god do I love this song. I'd actually admit that this is one of my top favorite Malice Mizer songs. The chorus of this song sends me into spasms of squee. Good swirling around your room song. The music video is here so you can see the beautiful and now deceased Kami (the one on the drums with the super long hair). I can upload the mp3 if someone wants it.
- Haruno Sumire's VISA PVs. I was looking through some of my old bookmarks today and came across them. I can't look at them and not be happy. There's Osa and then all the shiny happy people. It's great. Here and Here.
- Homemade hamburgers
- Denver Doll Emporium. You can get BJDs on layaway. Awesome.
- The FAIL Blog
Well, that's all for today. Hopefully, I'll keep this up.
