Woohoo, Im nearly caught up with all my updates!

Here's what happened in San Sebastian....the place Ive just left.....

I arrived in San Sebastian first thing in the morning on the night train, found my hostel, dumped by bag and then had a few hours to kill before I could actually go back to the hostel to check in, take a shower etc. I walked along the beach for a while and then checked out the shops in the Old Town which was where the hostel was. The town was really nice and had a good vibe about it. There were people everywhere and while the weather started out shit in the morning, it got better during the day!

Later on I went back to the hostel, got myself sorted, had some food and met the guy who was in my room. In the room for 5 people, there was only the 2 of us staying there there that night which was cool. Keegan was from the US but lived in France and was a gay boy. He was really nice and we hung out a bit. That night we went to the beach where we wondered around hoping to find people chilling out with drums and instruments (which Keegan had seen people doing the night before and had joined in with them) but there was no sign of them so we sat on the beach for a while, then chatted to an Austrian guy who came up to us and then went home to bed.

The next morning Keegan and I were planning on having a good sleep in. We got woken up at 11am though (which is not a sleep in for me....especially in Spain when they go to bed really late) by a huge Marching Band which were wondering the streets below us. Keegan opened out doors onto the terrace and we watched the band for a while. They were really good and were starting the celebrations because it was the day of some Saint which meant that it was a public holiday with lots of activities going on.

After breakfast I went for a bit of a walk to see what was going on and there were some street performances which were really cool. Im always a sucker for good street performances! I then went to the beach with Keegan where we hung out for a while. In the evening I met another guy who had moved into our room for the night. We ended up going out for a drink at a bar and having a chat before having an early night in bed because I was so tired!

The last day I just bummed around doing absolutely nothing, sitting in a garden and reading for a bit and hanging out at the hostel. All I wanted to really do was sleep but I had checked out of my room already in the hostel because I had to catch a night bus that evening. I met another cool guy from Canada that evening and we went out for some food in a restaurant which was nice. I was told that i HAD to eat out once while I was there because apparently they're known for having the best food in Spain.

I then had to catch a night bus from San Sebastian to Gijon last night....and thats another story....

I was on the bus and all was fine and around 6.20am the bus stopped and the driver announced something of which I only understood "5 minutos" and nearly everyone was getting off the bus. I quickly went to the toilet expecting thats what the stop was for, but when i came out the bus was gone....and my bags were on it!
I ran around the station asking people for help in my very very very basic Spanish but no one could help me until I found the booking desk. The lady did some calls and then got me on another bus which was going direct to the next town....which happened to be the stop I needed to get off at anyway, Gijon.
So I got to Gijon and tried to explain to people that my bags were on another bus and that I needed to find the bus but no one could understand what I was talking about. Finally the bus driver of the direct bus that took me to Gijon explained what was going on and after a few more calls and talking to people, my bus finally turned up and I was able to get my bags off with no problems.
I walked onto the bus to get my things and some of the passengers had noticed that I hadnt been on for the last stop and they were giggling and one man who was sitting behind me goes "Hola" while laughing. I just laughed, got my things and got off the bus.

Now Im in Gijon and am killing time until 1pm when im going to a couchsurfers house. Ive already had a quick nap in a park but I really didnt get any sleep on the bus so I think Im going to sleep on the beach after this.

And there you have it. You are now completely updated with what ive been up to and where I am now. Oh, and yes, my plans changed a bit because I was actually meant to have a couchsurf in Madrid and also Vallaloid (or something like that) but both of those couchsurfs fell through so I changed my plans to stay at some hostels there....which Im glad I did cos I really wanted time to myself....not that I really got that at the hostels anyway.

Im counting down the days til London. Dont get be wrong, I like Spain and have enjoyed it here but Im really over the travelling and am just ready to hang out in London with my friends with no more moving around. Im quite nervous about going back to Australia though. Not sure why, but I am
