To buy or not to buy
cos I''ve been totally bored with everything that's going on around me, I've gravitated to a new interest, to really, if nothing else, just to entertain myself. I've been itching to get into DJing recently, after a silly friend of mine convinced me to buy the iDJ, which is a piece of junk crap I bought for like $400 at the new i21 store at cineleisure. It doesn't do shit except play 2 ipods at the same time....like wow! what great advancements in technology!...bleah!...but that kinda got me started on the whole DJing thing, did some research on the internet and downloaded the demo version of this great DJ software called Traktor. Which really is an awesome fun software which for the past 3 weeks gave me hours of entertainment!!. But then in order to have a decent set up to actually spin at a party, you need to get a multi-channel sound card which will cost about $600. On top of that, you need your equipment to be mobile, i,e, you will need a laptop, and not just any laptop, but the top of the line, the cost of which will be equivalent to the GDP of a 3rd world country type laptop...so in short, its a bloody expensive hobby. But nevertheless, I'm very much tempted and obsessing over it, much to the dismay of my friends....Well, I already have one component of it, which is the super piece of junk iDJ, which for all of its crappiness, does double up as a basic 3-EQ mixer and has a croassfader, which is one of the components of the set-up, so, I just have to get the other 2 components and I am all set!...how difficult is that right?! ...sigh...decisions decision....
