I went to this, and it's not actually Rocky -- it's that other Stallone vehicle, Over The Top! A man and his son bond against a backdrop of athletic competition. Makes too much sense.

As to quality of film, it was very well filled out, they built a great world. The actors played note-perfect, the characters just didn't have much depth. Best crafted blending of animatronics and CG I can recall, and in a realistic setting that's saying a lot. So in total, mostly predictable but worth the time.
