it's a long weekend here because of Canada day. People are usually in their trailers up in the north and south east, celebrating the weekend with bbq and beer. Me...I spent my day in the movie theaters.

I watched the 2.5 hour long Superman Returns. It's the most entertaining summer movie for me,so far. There are some dragging moments...ok... many dragging moments, but many scenes definitely gave me the 10$ worth of goosebumps that I deserve. Another thing that concerned me was the character of Clark Kent that just disappeared at the final 1/3 of the movie...they should've given him more respect than that.

So...[spoiler ahead]

Superman had a son...so that's why ms. lane was that furious when Superman left her...wala nang kasunod. imagine superman in bed, buddy.harharhar

[end spoiler]

There is something about the Superman theme that makes me high..makes me feel young again...makes me remember the days when I used to hang out with my cousin on the roof of my lola's house wearing a superman costume. But there i also something about the film (especially the theme song) that puts the "YOU ARE VULNERABLE AND WEAK" placard right in front of my face. Many of us, one way or another, dreams of having at least one of Superman's powers. Maybe, just maybe, we want to fly. we want to see through walls and see things we are not supposed to see. We want to hear things we shouldn't want to hear. We want to carry the world single handedly, not wanting, not needing others on our side.

Not only do comics need Superman. WE do need a Superman.

Spare me the Pulitzer Prize, Ms Lane.

Watched CLICK after. Pretty funny film. I've always liked how Adam Sandler films are written. There is always something big in its comedic subtlety.

"WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME IN THE MORNING?"
