it's the end, it's the end, chanyeol thinks as he watches baekhyun's back getting further and further away from him. he knows it was foolish, he knows baekhyun isn't in love with him, but he just didn't know how to let go. still doesn't. baekhyun's always been in love with zitao. not him. not park-fucking-chanyeol. but he does, and will always, love him.
but, like this, in the middle of the rain, his tears aren't visible. just like how chanyeol is to him. has always been.
it's noisy, the sound of rain. he has to do something; anything. but... should he just shout "i love you"? or should he just hide in the rain? crying, while the pieces of his broken heart lie beneath the hard sheets of the rain.

chanyeol grins as he lies in his bed, texting his best friend baekhyun for about an hour now. simple 'hey's and 'i'm bored's and 'what are you doing's. it's been going on peacefully and playfully, like the way it is between them. until baekhyun asks him a more serious question.
actually, his text says, i want to tell you something. this is a secret though, his text finishes. chanyeol frowns.
what's up? he replies. maybe that was a mistake. maybe he took the wrong step. he wouldn't want to know the answer. there's a few minutes before baekhyun's reply comes. the next second, chanyeol finds himself gripping his phone tightly.
i'm going out, the reply says, with zitao. those words shatter the world he's known into pieces; perfectly mirroring his heart. he has to applaud himself because it doesn't take him very long to send a reply. oh, he says, congratulations!!
simple, common words. but as deadly as a knife to his current condition.
baekhyun seems to not notice any of his discomfort - well, through texts, anyway - and sends him a thanks, chanyeol-ah.
but the next words are deadlier. do you like anyone? are you kidding me? he thinks as he reads baekhyun's text, scoffing.
nope, he sends back. funny, he actually wants to say, i'm actually in love with you, bastard.
