Well, Dan Rooney was supporting Barack (although some of his former players, such as Lynn Swann, weren't).
Snopes.com has posted their verdict on a rumor that in all but one of the last fifteen elections (up to this one) if the Washington Redskins won their last home game, the incumbent party would win the Presidential election.
The verdict: Not any more
The e-mail proposing this "rule" noted that in election years up to 2000, this held true. Snopes notes, however, that in 2004, the Skins lost (to Green Bay) but the incumbent, Bush, beat John Kerry. Thus, the mojo didn't work that time.
But this year, the predictive factor or Redskins games may be back on track: the Skins lost to the Steelers on Sunday.
