White Collar, 1.07, "Free Fall"- OMG WTF BBQ

DAMN IT. BUGGERIT MILLENIUM HAND AND SHRIMP. Why must my Bureau shows be throwing me a curve this month?

Peter? PETER? With the talking behind the pillars and the admiring of the window-jumping and...and the CHAMPAGNE IN PAPER CUPS? (Champagne in Paper Cups is the sign of friendship, man.)

Oh Peter. What the hell. What the hell what the hell. And it is a testament to the talent of Tim DeKay that I can think that Peter has a good reason for this, and will be able to sell it when we come back from holiday hiatus. That he's not doing this for some nefarious evil purpose, but for a "road to hell is paved with good intentions" kind of thing.

But seriously. I suspected that we would end the front half of the season with something rocking the partnership. But they managed to suck me into thinking it would be Neal. Bomer was really very good tonight; I gave him a Hell Yeah for jumping out the window. And then he was at his most vulnerable talking to Peter while sitting next to the pillar. I really thought after Interpol Lady fucked with him last week, he was going to rabbit on Peter and Crew. But I guess that makes it hurt all the more.

Plus, they managed to somehow make the Kate plot interesting to me. Maybe this was the only way?

Thank god for Lauren, who is growing on me, and Jones/Mozzie/Elizabeth, whom I always love. And the action sequences. They will succor me, and get me through the next month. Because:
PETER? (Hee. It's the opposite of the season-long secret on Fringe; this time it's the Peter who's hiding something from the crazier half of the central pair.) Peter can't be evil. He CANNOT be dirty. He may be misguided, but that's all I will admit to at this time.

I'm on a serious FBI kick right now. I found a paperback version of Bryan Burroughs's Public Enemies -a history of the Great Crime Wave, Dillinger and Bonnie and Clyde et al, and the self-birth of the FBI. And it's got me totally hooked. I was reading it for, like 3 hours straight this afternoon after work. Wow. Also, I think I have kind of a crush on John Dillinger. Not the Johnny Depp version either. I would have totally been a moll, y'all.
