Remembering The Greatest Things That Never Happened To Me

Oct 17, 2004 21:09

The past few days have been really nice back in California. Some have been saying I brought the cold weather with me, but I rather like that. It feels like fall and I love it. I've settled back in nicely, but I think it will take other people a while to remember that I'm actually available to hang out with and that I'm in town. It's not so bad though. I rather like spending time on my own... it's peaceful. I went to Marine World on Friday with Ryan, Glenn, Jamie, and Laurin. I had so much fun. Since it's Halloween time they had the fright fest events going on, and for some reason no one was there. I think the longest line we had to wait in was only 10 minutes - at the most. It was a very good day.
Yesterday I hung out with Michael for pretty much the whole day and it was great. It was really nice to feel like someones friend, like a part of a group again. We ended up at Outback with Laurin, Glenn, Stephanie, Karl, and Greg. Afterwards the group retreated to Laurin's house, minus Stephanie and Karl, to play Scattergories. We played so many rounds my head started to hurt. I couldn't think of ANYTHING. It was really rather sad.
Today my mom and I went and looked at open houses after we had lunch. It was a nice day spent with her. She even found a house she liked, that she wanted me to move in to, but the sellers didn't accept the offer so I guess it will be a while until I move out. Which is rather unfortunate, considering I'd like to move out as soon as possible. Oh well... I'll keep looking. Veronica and I went to the mall so I could buy a sweater, and I ran into Tom Arnold (okay, not the famous one for those of you who don't know who he is... he graduated from Santa Rosa with us). Turns out he's working at American Eagle and was very shocked to see that I moved back from New York. It's nice to see that people are still excited to see you. It's a good feeling. After that Veronica took me to the Blackney's house where I had dinner with them. I love being there. It's like a second home to me. I really enjoy spending time with that family. Even without Dave there, it's still nice.
Now I'm at home, preparing myself to go to bed early for the first day of work I have tomorrow. Wish me luck all! I'll update tomorrow and let you know how it went.
