Carrie and I decided to make our Monday in New York a very eventful one. We started around noon and took a subway up to Columbus Circle, the far South-West corner of Central Park. We walked through it, watched the Columbus Day Parade march up 5th Avenue. We ended up at the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) and spent a few hours marveling at all the Greek and Roman artifacts and Ancient Egyptian mummies. Yep, we were in the presence of some really old dead people. If looked at the art for too long, it really started to creep you out. So we quickly moved into European paintings. We took some pictures of knights and armor for Mrs.Butler. It was a great time and Carrie had a lot more fun than I thought she would. I think she may have loved it more than I did.
We walked back through Central Park, down 5th avenue, and stopped at Rockefeller Center where they started up the season of the ice rink there. David and Brittany: highly recommended if you haven't seen it already. AMAZING.... We walked back to campus and later that evening we went to the top of the Empire State Building. It was fun when I went there at the beginning of the year, but it was so much better when I went there with Carrie. We took pictures of EVERYTHING! It was so much fun.
Now I'm finishing up packing and actually have to continue doing that, but I will post when I'm back in California. Much love.
