sorry, i meant no offense! it was an allusion to a Great Depression-era song, "Buddy, Can you spare a dime?" and looking at real estate prices is depressing.
at the high end of what we could afford: butt-ugly, teeny-window brick-block, 3-room (with galley kitchen!) apartment-to-condo conversions in undesirable areas of eastern mass. starting at just $150k. it's really depressing that we can't even afford to buy a 3-room condo that isn't butt-ugly and depressing to live in. (i've lived in those structures. i hope i never have to again. utilitarian, and that's the only thing to be said for them.)
I assume that buying her out isn't an option for you?
