I headed over to the LA Convention Center this morning to grab my E3 badge and get the obligatory shot of the building. Then I headed back towards the hotel for some brunch at Denny's and to lament the lack of wifi, since the LACC hotspot won't be turned on until Wednesday.
Then it was off to the PlayStation press conference where it was revealed that the PS3 will cost CDN$549 with a 20GB drive or CDN$659 with a 60 GB drive inside. My guess is people will buy the 20GB and just swap a 200GB or so into it ;) They also revealed that the silly "boomerang" prototype controllers were just a ruse to hide the fact that the PS3 supports motion control on a 6 axis system (X,Y,Z,pitch, yaw, roll). Poor Nintendo, I guess I'll hear what they have to say about that tomorrow. There's no way it was done at the last minute to rip them off though, since Warhawk is playable by simply moving the controller around (happily, much like the old Star Wars arcade machine). It was cool they had playable games set up after the show, and there was a tonne of information and titles.
