Легенда современного танца - впервые в России
Недавнее открытие после реставрации Большого театра, без сомнения, является одним из главных культурных событий 2011 года для Москвы и для всего мира. Но я хотел бы привлечь ваше внимание к ещё одному захватывающему событию - к первому визиту в Россию танцевальной труппы Билла T. Джоунса/Арни Зейна. Основанная в Нью-Йорке 30 лет назад, труппа из десяти танцоров под руководством легендарного Билла T. Джоунса является одним из самых заметных и передовых явлений в мире современного танца. Мы давно хотели привезти их в Россию, и я рад, что в ноябре зрители Москвы и Волгограда смогут увидеть эту труппу в рамках проводимых Посольством США культурных мероприятий «Американские сезоны в России».
Билл T. Джоунс - один из самых талантливых и продуктивных хореографов на американской танцевальной сцене. Созданные им произведения исполняются не только его труппой, но и многими другими балетными и танцевальными коллективами, в том числе и на Бродвее, где он получил две премии «Тони» за лучшую хореографию. Работы, которые труппа привезла в Россию, являются частью её программы «Классическая музыка» и включают такие произведения, как «D-Man in the Waters», «Spent Days Out Yonder» и «Continuous Replay».
Танцевальная труппа Билла T. Джоунса будет выступать 15-16 ноября в «Российском академическом молодёжном театре» в Москве и 20 ноября в «Царицынской опере» в Волгограде. A Modern Dance Legend Comes to Russia for the First Time
The re-opening of the iconic Bolshoi Theatre is certainly one of the highlights of the 2011 cultural season in Moscow and throughout the world, but there is another exciting event to which I would like to draw your attention: the first ever visit of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company to Russia. Based in New York City and now celebrating its 30th season, the ten-member troupe under the leadership of the legendary Bill T. Jones is one of the most innovative and powerful forces in the modern dance world. We have been trying to bring them to Russia for a long time, and I’m thrilled that audiences in Moscow and Volgograd will finally have the chance to see them in November as part of the U.S. Embassy’s “American Seasons in Russia” cultural celebration.
Bill T. Jones is one of the most talented and creative choreographers in American dance. He has created major works not only for his own company but also for many other ballet and modern dance companies, as well as for Broadway (he has received two Tony Awards for Best Choreography). The works that his company is bringing to Russia are part of its Classical Music Program and include D-Man in the Waters, Spent Days Out Yonder, and Continuous Replay.
The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will perform on November 15-16 at the Russian Academic Youth Theater in Moscow and on November 20 at the Tsaritsynskaya Opera in Volgograd. I will definitely attend one of the performances in Moscow, and I hope to see you there!
