I'm nowhere...

Becky has been doing better.

That is to say that she can feel again (even if anything positive is muted) and she's not going out and killing people anymore.

But she's been conspicuously missing since Romana turned up. Dealing with emotions, dealing with memories. And it all hurts too much. She knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that seeing someone else's death, now that she's feeling again... it would kill her. It would well and truly kill her.

Which might be why she checked out a panic button. Which might be why she went up to the roof of a three-story building a couple of blocks away from the hotel.

She knows she can't leave yet. Annie needs her. Gene needs her. Hell, even Des needs her, in some protective way. But she can't do this.

Which is why she presses the panic button before she takes a deep breath and steps off the edge.

The pain is far beyond anything she's ever felt, far beyond the suicides who jumped but didn't die before (or immediately when) they hit the ground. It's burning, through every inch of her, and it feels like her sixteenth birthday all over again, with the pain of whatever broken bones she's sustained on top of it all.

She can't really process right now that despite all the pain, she's still alive.

Hopefully, the panic buttons actually, y'know... work.
