It’s been a rather quiet day in Chicago. Nothing too eventful, which could either be a blessing or a curse, depending on your point of view, but regardless-the day is quiet. And even with the quietness, there are people out and about, going about their daily routine with an odd short of shared obliviousness of anything that could possibly go ( Read more... )

Damon is definitely at the No Name. He is most nights, because he finds he is very good at convincing business to boom without use of compulsion. Damon knows how to encourage a good time, and the place is pumping due to his influence tonight, pulled some girls on to the dance floor, got them grinding, and then left them to the men that remain out there.

Bela would find him at the back of the club though in what is now his office.

He is not really doing work at the moment. In fact, a small group of sorority girls are stepping out of the office and back to the dance floor after showing them how very good they all were at playing pool. Yes, the office has a very nice pool table in it. It was Josef's. Damon hasn't really changed much about it ( ... )

Bela never really knows what to expect out of Damon whenever she goes to see him, but she certainly has a very distinct impression of him, and he never seems to prove her wrong. This particular time is no exception, and she watches the sorority girls come out of his office with an amused glance.

"I wanted to see if you had any work for me," she replies, as she makes her way inside. "Now I'm starting to think I'm interrupting."

Damon smirks in her direction as he walks over to the desk, picking up the bottle again and extending it toward her with raised eyebrows. It's his way of asking if she wants any.

"Just a typical evening at the club," he says as he looks at her. "For you, it's no interruption."

So charming, his presence, didn't he just mention that? "I might have something."

She nods at the bottle, moving to the nearby chair and taking a seat. She's always good for a drink, and Damon usually has the best booze in the city. It meets her standards, at least.

"Something to find or something to investigate?"

Damon pours her a drink, moving over to her and handing the glass out to her in turn. He smirks at the question, folding his arms across his chest as he stands directly in front of her.

Pff, personal space, who needs it?

"Is it really all business and no play with you, Bela?"

Bela takes a sip of her drink as she settles in the seat, crossing her legs in front of her. When he asks the question, however, she can't help but look up at him with a smirk.

"I play, Damon. Just not with you."

Damon raises an eyebrow at her as he looks at her from his desk, leaning back against it.

"So cruel, Bela," he says, placing a hand over his heart and tilting his head with a small smirk that widens into a grin. "I'm a very good playmate. But you wouldn't know that."

"I'm sure you are," she smirks. "But I don't play with just anyone."

But she'll flirt with them to the end of the Earth, because that's just how she rolls.

"Who do you play with?" Damon looks at her with a small smirk of his own, raising an eyebrow and drinking from the glass in his hand. "Just... for curiosity's sake?"

Pff, distracting from the subject matter at hand? Who him? Look he likes her company, he'll take as much of it as he can and she's one of those few people that work for him that doesn't cringe when he walks by. Damon makes for an interesting boss.

Bela doesn't mind him doing the distracting. She came here for something to do, and if it doesn't wind up being work, then she can turn this into a social call. After all, they're already drinking.

"No one you know," she sighs. No one ... in this universe, actually, but that's not something he needs to know.

Damon has work for her, but he is... distracting her, yes. It's hard to say why except he appreciates her company, and there's not a whole lot of people he can say that about despite the company in here a few minutes ago.

He smirks. "I know a lot of people," he says. "But I'll take your word for it. Speaking of, I believe I met your troll."

"Really?" she says, raising an eyebrow as she takes another sip of her drink. She's not thrilled with the idea of Crowley making face time with Damon, but Damon seems to be in one piece, so she'll consider that a positive. "How did that go?"

"He's a barrel of fun... and a jackass," Damon says, shaking his head. He's been around to know enough about psychotic jackasses when he meets them. It helps that there were hellhounds at the time, made it a little obvious. "He had some of his 'pets' with him on Halloween. They were busy with another chew toy, and I played nice."

He wanted to not play nice, but he can't afford to if he is as powerful as Bela says.

that is a very valid reason, in my opinion. enjoythe_ride November 21 2011, 16:01:48 UTC
The idea that Crowley had hellhounds on Halloween did not sit well with Bela. At all. In fact, those are the last things she wants him to have, and for the moment, it's written all over her face. "Note to self," she sighs, throwing back the rest of her drink before getting up to cross over and pour herself another. "Add some goofer dust to the salt lines."

She wants to know when her Chicago life got to be so complicated. There was a time, not too long ago, where she actually liked it here. She wants to know what the universe has against her being happy every once in a while.

Damon is good at reading people when he wants to be. He rarely wants to be, but with Bela he does. Because he actually cares even if it's nothing that he would ever admit, he does. He reads it in a moment. "Guess you already know what those bad boys are," he says after a moment.

Before he walks over to where she's pouring herself some more, he watches her from behind. "I don't know if he still has them. Could have been one of those one time, Rift-y gifts." There's sarcasm at that last word and then a slight pause where he doesn't sound like he's flirting or being charming for once. "Are... you okay?"

She turns to face him, clearly uncomfortable with where the conversation is going, but she needs to see it out nonetheless. "Crowley only keeps one kind of pet -- hellhounds. He uses them to collect his debts."

Therefore, them being in Chicago did not bode well for her, even if her soul had no hell to return to. She doesn't want to die -- regardless of whether or not John was involved, dying is not on her list of desired events. And hellhounds being in Chicago are not going to help her keep her hopes up.

The second question makes her pause, and for a moment, she's tempted to just throw off the usual response that she's fine. But he's asking her honestly. He at least deserves an honest answer. She looks up at him for a moment, before shaking her head. She's not, but that's par for the course when it comes to Crowley.
