Bela would find him at the back of the club though in what is now his office.
He is not really doing work at the moment. In fact, a small group of sorority girls are stepping out of the office and back to the dance floor after showing them how very good they all were at playing pool. Yes, the office has a very nice pool table in it. It was Josef's. Damon hasn't really changed much about it ( ... )

"I wanted to see if you had any work for me," she replies, as she makes her way inside. "Now I'm starting to think I'm interrupting."

So charming, his presence, didn't he just mention that? "I might have something."

"I play, Damon. Just not with you."

Therefore, them being in Chicago did not bode well for her, even if her soul had no hell to return to. She doesn't want to die -- regardless of whether or not John was involved, dying is not on her list of desired events. And hellhounds being in Chicago are not going to help her keep her hopes up.
The second question makes her pause, and for a moment, she's tempted to just throw off the usual response that she's fine. But he's asking her honestly. He at least deserves an honest answer. She looks up at him for a moment, before shaking her head. She's not, but that's par for the course when it comes to Crowley.
