LOLA YOU GET ALL THE WINCHESTERS TODAY APPARENTLY. :> thehandsomeone March 16 2011, 03:06:53 UTC
Dean is walking past the common rooms when he spots Lola. At first, he's just glad to see her doing something a little safer than fighting monsters by herself, but then he spots the food, and he walks over with a grin.

There really is a lot of food there. Even Dean, who could probably eat his own body weight no really, is impressed.

"Wow," he says, giving a little whistle. "I guess it's fair to say cheeseburgers are going good for you, huh?"

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY. :> therebelruns March 16 2011, 03:13:01 UTC
Lola does need a lot of food, Dean. She does do a great deal of running and moving through solid objects and that leaves her hungry enough to eat a small horse. Or something. The narration doesn't even know. Besides, she definitely has to agree with him: cheeseburgers are a glorious, glorious thing. Which is why she bought so many. She is so happy right now.

She pauses mid-chew and smiles before swallowing, "Hello, Dean!" she says cheerily. She looks down at her cheeseburger and grins a little more fully, "These... these are amazing. They are... I like these very much,"

She reaches for a container of fries and offers him them, "Here, I would give you a cheeseburger but I know you can't eat them,"

There is no disagreeing here, okay. Dean looks back on the days of bacon cheeseburger-eating with the kind of fondness most people reserve for old friends and dead pets.

"I'm glad," Dean says, smiling back. His eyes widen a little when she offers the fries. He doesn't want to just go around taking her food, but far be it from Dean to turn down French fries. The fact that the Rift hasn't taken those away from Dean probably helps him with not punching the thing in the metaphorical face.

...Anyway. Dean takes the container, then pops a few still-hot fries into his mouth. "These are great," he says. "Thanks."

The narration can see a special bond forming with cheeseburgers. She loves them as much as she loves candy. And that's a lot of love, considering her age.

"I am so happy you told me about them, I would have never tried them otherwise," she tells him. "So, thank you," Take them, Dean. Lola has plenty of fries. No, really. It's probably a better thing if she shares them. She'll never eat them all before they get cold. And it's a shame to see fast food go cold. It never tastes nice re-heated.

She grins and laughs, "You are welcome!" she says before taking another bite of her burger. "I have milkshake too!" She takes a moment to close her book, becoming more focused on him.

"Oh, and did you fix Sam's computer?" she asks with raised eyebrows, "You should not have broken it trying to watch Asian girls singing in strange positions," She wrinkles her nose a little, "You are weird, Dean,"

Aww! Dean loves cheeseburgers and candy equally, truth be told. His appetite during Halloween (and Easter, really) is pretty much legendary.

"And that would have been a crime," Dean says. Kids need cheeseburgers, all right. "You're welcome." The fries will disappear shortly, in the way that only Dean Winchester eats. It's as if he doesn't need to chew.

"That's awesome," Dean says, and to the narration's shock he actually manges to finish chewing before he talks. "You've got exactly the right idea. You should try dipping your fries in it. It's the perfect combination."

...And now the narration wants fries and milkshakes, thanks guys.

The mention of Sam earns Lola a face, followed by a stifled laugh. You'd think Dean would be embarrassed about the whole thing, or that considering how long Sam's been gone Dean would be grateful enough not to be a jackass about the whole thing, but that is not the way Winchesters show they care about each other. "You're right," Dean says, trying his best to keep a straight face. "I should have asked ( ... )

I HAD TO. :D therebelruns March 19 2011, 03:06:18 UTC
She takes another bite of her burger and listens as he talks. Nodding and smiling here and there. At his suggestion, she swallows to finally speak. "Dip the fries in the milkshake?" she asks, making a face, "... that sounds disgusting, Dean," As much as a brilliant idea the cheeseburger was, that doesn't sound as appealing.

This narration would also like some fries and milkshakes and should not have written such a thread that would make everyone hungry.

Lola just watches him curiously. She really doesn't get this all at all and why he finds it funny. Grown ups are so confusing and she doesn't think she'll ever understand them - even when she's finally one herself. The narration facepalms forever.

She nods with a stern look, she's way more mature than you Dean. Even if she doesn't understand you. "You should of!" And then she frowns, tilting her head to the side. "What? Sam watches weirder things than that?"

Dean shrugs. "Yeah, I guess it's an acquired taste." We are talking about the same person who considers bacon a food group, after all. Or, at least, he used to...

ALL IS FORGIVEN.

Everyone is more mature than Dean, Lola. He's used to it, and doesn't even feel particularly judged. Twelve-year-old Sam had the judgmental face to end all judgmental faces, so Dean is pretty much immune.

"Trust me, he didn't really want me near his computer at all. It's like if he tried to fix my car." He gives her a jokingly stern look. "I'd have to kill him if he did that." And then Dean snorts again. Whatever, it's Sam's fault for not knowing how to lock a damn journal. "Yeah, he does. You'll have to ask him yourself if you're curious, though. It's none of my business."

Dean is the best older brother, really.

"Yuck," Lola shakes her head.

"Ohhhh..." she comments with a nod of understanding. "And you do really love you car," Even though such a love of an thing seems weird to her. But the narrations have already worked out she's too young to really understand it. She will one day, Dean.

She makes a face, biting down on her lower lip for a moment, "Um.. maybe I should ask. But if it is weirder than what you watch - maybe I do not want to know,"

Okay, the Winchesters are officially weird in her eyes, even if they do seem pretty cool. And this is coming from a tiny teenager who believes that she's meant to be a hero like in her fairy tales, fights in civil wars and carries and rifle around Chicago like it's totally okay.

The narration loves you boys, really.

"Have you been fighting any more monsters lately?" she asks brightly.

thehandsomeone March 19 2011, 20:02:07 UTC
"That I do," Dean agrees. Although Sam's feelings about his laptop nowhere near compare to Dean's feelings for his car. Theirs is a real true love. Sagas will be written about them, and stuff.

...anyway.

There is a pause. "Might be better if you don't," Dean says eventually. It's only funny if he's there to see Sam's reaction, anyway. And Dean can get that kind of reaction out of him any day, pretty much without even trying.

The narration loves you, Lola. Cuz you're a warrior a warrior. :x

Dean grins at the subject change. While he still doesn't exactly approve of this tiny teenager fighting monsters, he's happy to share stories. She lives in Chicago, after all - she's going to see monsters whether Dean tells her about them or not. "Kind of an everyday occupation around here, isn't it?" Dean asks. "Nothing as interesting since that Yeti, but there was some kind of slimy, tentacle thing in the park the other day ( ... )

Lola pauses for a moment before nodding slowly. Knowing her, she'll still ask anyway. Because she's a curious little thing.

Bawwww. <3

Lola nods in agreement, taking a smaller bite out of her cheeseburger and chewing thoughtfully. The rift throws out so many monsters these days, it's hard to keep track of how many she's killed. "It gives us something to do, though," she says, "We would be sitting around bored otherwise,"

Her eyes widen at the mention of this slimy, tentacle thing because she's absolutely fascinated. "Never come across any of those before!" she says almost excitedly. Now she wants to see one. Even if she is going to be killing monsters, it's still exciting to actually see them. It's a joy to see fictional monsters exist because it means that heroes exist too ( ... )

"Couldn't agree with you more," Dean says. He finishes off a few more fries before adding, "Back where I'm from, I'm used to moving around the country, going after these things. I'm not saying it's a good thing Chicago's got its own colony of the things, but..." he shrugs. It's never been easy for Dean to put into words why he sticks with the job. It's just what he's always known - saving people, hunting things.

Whatever the things might be, it's a job, and for the most part, he loves it.

Dean chuckles softly at Lola's reaction. "I think you should consider yourself lucky there," he says. "Me and my friend Jo ran into one a while back, and the thing lifted us both right off the ground like it wanted to take us for a ride." He shakes his head at the memory. The thing had been huge, all slime and tentacles and frigging spikes, too. "Probably not one of our finest moments as hunters ( ... )

"I did not move much back home. In the war, we were stationed in the forest and we stayed there to hold our ground. We only advanced or retreated every now and then, but we put up a good Resistance," And she's proud of that. A group of rebels against an army. "That's good," Dean says, listening with interest. He's sure that like anyone here, Lola doesn't appreciate being pulled from her world, but he's glad she didn't end up in this place without some kind of experience with fighting - it's so much harder to get by here without the right skills.

It's hard enough even with them, sometimes.

"Yeah," Dean says, grinning a little. "She's from back home, but I showed up here before I'd ever - met her back there." It's something he forgets about, most of the time - they spend enough time together that it's weird to think he never would have known her if she hadn't ended up here with him. "Most of them are, yeah," Dean says. "Sam, of course, and Jo. And Castiel's an angel, but he's got some serious monster-killing skills." And Dean has absolutely no idea how to categorize Bela and never will, ahem.

Look, Lola, Dean is always going to be concerned! She's so small and young and even if she wasn't, Dean can't help being overprotective of just about anyone he likes. "Damn straight it is," Dean says ( ... )

It is. Lola wouldn't be quite sure what she'd do if she'd not been given the fighting skills she's learned over the last couple of years. She knows it's not how children should be brought up and even her archangel mother knew that - but it's necessary in order to survive. Who knows what life is going to throw at you?

Lola frowns a little a first, she's a bit confused. She doesn't understand much about the rift - it makes her head spin just trying to get it. "So.. she is from your world. But in the future..?" she asks with a head tilt to the left. "That... is really confusing," And then she hears another name that she recognizes and she's instantly gleeful.

"Castiel?!" Lola sits up straight with look of delightful shock, "You are friends him? I know him!" And she gets very giddy over that. Well, because he's an angel. She aspires to be like him, in a way. Because all she wants to be is an angel, it's all she's wanted to be for a long time now. And an angels she meets along the way have her full respect and admiration ( ... )

It is necessary, especially in a place like this. Dean wasn't exactly brought up in ideal circumstances, either, but his dad taught him how to survive, how to help people, and Dean's always going to be grateful for that.

Dean understands the frowning completely. People from his future just show up all the time, and even when it's good it - never stops being a headache. "Tell me about it," Dean says. "It's a mess, but what can you do?"

He can't help laughing a bit at Lola's excitement. Castiel's great, but he's never seen that kind of reaction to that guy and it's - kind of awesome. "Really, you know him?" Dean teases. "I couldn't tell."

Seriously, Dean finds it freaking adorable that she's this worked up about his nerdy angel friend. Badass nerdy angel friend, but still. "He's pretty awesome," Dean says. "Not disagreeing with you there ( ... )

Lola shrugs and makes a face, she doesn't know how to answer that. She supposes it's not a question that needs an answer. She honestly wouldn't know how to deal with any one she'd know coming here. Not that there's many. "I would hate for my parents to come here before I was born. That would be too weird and perhaps a little awkward too,"

She giggles, "Of course I do!" she says brightly. Oh, c'mon Dean! It's Cas, here! "I met him a little while ago on the roof, doing that frowny face thing," She even pauses, staring blankly into the far distance with a slight frown - some kind of impression of it. Just because.

"But he was nice enough to talk to me," Lola continues and grins happily, still flailing a little. There is much love for the Cas, clearly. "I like him," she says with a nod, "Even if he is not like the angels I know. It is comforting to see that biblical angels exist too,"

It certainly is comforting. She's not particularly religious, but she does have some faith. "You are very lucky to have him as a friend,"
