[OOC: Lola's final post before I rift her for some time. I will be bringing her back again at some point - so not to worry! Also, this is open to backtagging as I know some people are on hiatus and stuff. And this isn't just for people who know her too! Anyone's welcome to meet Lola even if it'll be the first time for a while. Anywho - there are

Lola nods in agreement, taking a smaller bite out of her cheeseburger and chewing thoughtfully. The rift throws out so many monsters these days, it's hard to keep track of how many she's killed. "It gives us something to do, though," she says, "We would be sitting around bored otherwise,"
Her eyes widen at the mention of this slimy, tentacle thing because she's absolutely fascinated. "Never come across any of those before!" she says almost excitedly. Now she wants to see one. Even if she is going to be killing monsters, it's still exciting to actually see them. It's a joy to see fictional monsters exist because it means that heroes exist too.
"There was a Kelpie down by the pier yesterday," she says with a slight frown. Because she's annoyed she didn't kill it. She knows Kelpies are dangerous because she's read in her books about how they drag people to their deaths in the water. "I could not get to it since it kept hiding in the water. And I stayed there for hours. Any chance you could help me with it tomorrow?"
And then she shows him her copy of Alice in Wonderland, "Today I am having a day off. Because even we need a break now and then," The Kelpie will be dealt with later. "My Father is an Angel of Knowledge and got me into reading when I was young. But I love it, the stories I find are beautiful and so heroic,"

"Couldn't agree with you more," Dean says. He finishes off a few more fries before adding, "Back where I'm from, I'm used to moving around the country, going after these things. I'm not saying it's a good thing Chicago's got its own colony of the things, but..." he shrugs. It's never been easy for Dean to put into words why he sticks with the job. It's just what he's always known - saving people, hunting things.
Whatever the things might be, it's a job, and for the most part, he loves it.
Dean chuckles softly at Lola's reaction. "I think you should consider yourself lucky there," he says. "Me and my friend Jo ran into one a while back, and the thing lifted us both right off the ground like it wanted to take us for a ride." He shakes his head at the memory. The thing had been huge, all slime and tentacles and frigging spikes, too. "Probably not one of our finest moments as hunters."
And his eyebrows go up in interest at the mention of the Kelpie. He's heard a few vague things about them, but he's never seen one in this world or his. "From what I know about them, it's probably better you kept your distance," he says. He rubs at the back of his neck, going over what he knows about Kelpies and how to kill them. "'Course I can," he says then, with another grin. "Might even bring Sam along, if he's up for it. He hasn't seen too many Rift-monsters yet."
Plus he can make Sam do the research. Cough.
"Very true," Dean says with a nod. "I've never been a big reader myself," he admits. "I always liked comic books, though - they had some great heroes." He frowns, considering. "I'm guessing you probably haven't heard of Batman, considering when you're from."
Which is a crime, if you ask Dean. Batman is fucking awesome.

"Jo?" she asks with a curious look, "Is she one of your friends from home that is here too?" And then she gets a little excited, "Are all your friends from home that are here hunters?" The idea of a whole team of hunters sounds incredibly awesome. It sounds better being in a group like that. It means that more good work gets done!
Lola tilts her head to the side at his concern. It's sweet, but there's really no need for it. She knows how to look after herself and she knows fine well what Kelpies are capable of. "That is okay, I kept myself at a safe distance - I have read stories about them so I know what will happen if I had not of," She grins when he agrees to help and even at hope of Sam helping too, "Brilliant! And then that is one more monster out of Chicago!"
He does love that computer a lot. It's perfect. :x
Lola shakes her head at the mention of Batman. She's not read any comics at all. She wouldn't know where to get them. There doesn't seem to be at the library, anyway. "No, we did not have comics. Only books. I only had a few with me before I came here. There was no much room for personal possessions, but I was allowed to keep some of my books,"
The narration agrees. Batman rules!

It's hard enough even with them, sometimes.
"Yeah," Dean says, grinning a little. "She's from back home, but I showed up here before I'd ever - met her back there." It's something he forgets about, most of the time - they spend enough time together that it's weird to think he never would have known her if she hadn't ended up here with him. "Most of them are, yeah," Dean says. "Sam, of course, and Jo. And Castiel's an angel, but he's got some serious monster-killing skills." And Dean has absolutely no idea how to categorize Bela and never will, ahem.
Look, Lola, Dean is always going to be concerned! She's so small and young and even if she wasn't, Dean can't help being overprotective of just about anyone he likes. "Damn straight it is," Dean says with a firm nod.
Well, really. akdfdlka; lmfao :x
The narration is predicting comic books in Lola's future. Dean will totally find them for her, okay. Knowledge of superheroes is necessary, especially for a girl who grew up on similar things. "That's a shame," Dean says, "but I'm glad you got to keep your books. It's the small stuff that helps keep you sane around here sometimes." Or, in Dean's case, the slightly larger car-sized things. Every time Dean gets a particular urge to kick the Rift in the teeth, he remembers it could be slightly worse.
True story!

Lola frowns a little a first, she's a bit confused. She doesn't understand much about the rift - it makes her head spin just trying to get it. "So.. she is from your world. But in the future..?" she asks with a head tilt to the left. "That... is really confusing," And then she hears another name that she recognizes and she's instantly gleeful.
"Castiel?!" Lola sits up straight with look of delightful shock, "You are friends him? I know him!" And she gets very giddy over that. Well, because he's an angel. She aspires to be like him, in a way. Because all she wants to be is an angel, it's all she's wanted to be for a long time now. And an angels she meets along the way have her full respect and admiration.
"Castiel is amazing," she says with a grin. "He is.. he is just.." she actually doesn't have the words for it. So instead she just flails excitedly.
Ahh, she's going to put up with that a lot these days. Even if she does find it endearing yet unnecessary, she doesn't mind it. She knows she's a tiny girl and it makes her look a lot younger than she is, but she hopes that once she grows a few more inches - she'll finally look older.
The narration agrees! Lola definitely needs comic books in her life, there are too many amazing superheroes that she's never heard of yet! "I kept them in my bag, so I ended up bringing them here with me!" she says happily in agreement, "You never know when you are going to move about again, even if it is to a new world entirely,"

Dean understands the frowning completely. People from his future just show up all the time, and even when it's good it - never stops being a headache. "Tell me about it," Dean says. "It's a mess, but what can you do?"
He can't help laughing a bit at Lola's excitement. Castiel's great, but he's never seen that kind of reaction to that guy and it's - kind of awesome. "Really, you know him?" Dean teases. "I couldn't tell."
Seriously, Dean finds it freaking adorable that she's this worked up about his nerdy angel friend. Badass nerdy angel friend, but still. "He's pretty awesome," Dean says. "Not disagreeing with you there."
The guy did pull future!him out of hell. That right there is cause for friendship enough.
Then there will be comic books! Because you can never have too many superheroes. "That's good thinking," Dean says, nodding. "You can never be too prepared." It's why he's a walking arsenal, most days. You never know when you're going to move, and you sure as hell never know what this place is going to throw at you next.

She giggles, "Of course I do!" she says brightly. Oh, c'mon Dean! It's Cas, here! "I met him a little while ago on the roof, doing that frowny face thing," She even pauses, staring blankly into the far distance with a slight frown - some kind of impression of it. Just because.
"But he was nice enough to talk to me," Lola continues and grins happily, still flailing a little. There is much love for the Cas, clearly. "I like him," she says with a nod, "Even if he is not like the angels I know. It is comforting to see that biblical angels exist too,"
It certainly is comforting. She's not particularly religious, but she does have some faith. "You are very lucky to have him as a friend,"

The narration loves you so much, Lola. So much. And Dean is pretty fond of you, too, especially after that impression of Castiel. He proceeds to crack up, because Castiel's frowny thing does not belong on the face of a teenage girl and it's freaking hysterical.
"He's a great guy," Dean confirms, once he's able to speak again. He doesn't comment on the angel thing, because he's still not sure how to feel about the whole - biblical angels being real, thing. It'd be one thing if they just existed, but the way they're apparently tied up with him back home is another one of those things with the potential to make his head spin.
It's easier for him to just focus on Castiel as one person, really. "I know I am."
Even if Dean has an odd way of showing it that frequently involves mocking the guy. Whatever, Dean's just never going to be the most emotionally developed of people. It's a thing.

The narration is glaaaad! She begins grinning madly as Dean cracks up. She's very glad that she's made him laugh, she didn't even think the impression would go that well.
And before she knows it, she's laughing her self - real laughter. Something she can't remember doing for some time now.
"Did I impersonate him that well?" she asks through her giggles. "I cannot see for myself," she shakes her head, still grinning.

Dean has never seen anyone do an impression of Castiel before, all right. This is a priceless moment.
He's still grinning when he rubs at the back of his neck and nods. "You've got him down perfectly, Lola," Dean assures her. "You should show him sometime."
Preferably in Dean's presence. Because he would never stop laughing.
