Nikolas Demidov is dead.
It will take a while before Josef processes it fully, and while he lets the reality of what he did sink in, Josef busies himself with what doesn't take much emotional effort. He ensures everything at the club is running smoothly despite having lost its co-owner, and he cleans out his uncle's office. In the process of doing so, he finds a safety box containing certain items that must mean something. Hell if Josef knows what.
He'd been on his way to Niko's loft to find more answers, fully intending on going through his things.
It was supposed to clear up these loose ends, until he reached the loft and found it devoid of anything that once belonged to Nikolas. Everything in his uncle's apartment was wiped clean. Furniture, papers, books, everything Nikolas once moved into the place is no longer there. It is as if Nikolas never lived there at all. It was the first sign that something was amiss, and it wasn't the last. Whoever is keeping Nikolas' death on the down low has good reason for it.
Josef means to find out why.
The Crowbar is his first choice for its effectiveness and neutrality. The last time he had to work with Sonny, the results were favorable for them both. He's a contact that's vital to have and Josef knows it. Sonny has resources Josef doesn't, the same way Josef has resources Sonny doesn't.
It's three o'clock when Josef Soltini steps into the bar. Three o'clock as accorded.
