Luka Petrovic is in Grant Park, fighting an owlbear that the Rift spat out. She's bleeding from several gashes from the owlbear's claws, but she doesn't much care. With Arlin still in Moscow, the fight is the only thing she really lives for at the moment.
Luka shoots a cluster of four bullets from her gun. Unfortunately, it does little but enrage the owlbear, because while .45 ACP is a pretty high caliber ammunition for use on people, it really doesn't do all that much damage to something that's 10 feet tall on its hind legs. A shotgun or a rifle would be much better for this sort of thing, but Luka's making do with what she's got, at the moment.
Mio Hongo is annoyed at everything right now. The Rift thought she needed cheering up, so she's been followed around by sunshine and rainbows (even while indoors!) and birds and butterflies that sing sickeningly cheerful Disney songs. Right now the birds and the butterflies are singing "Zippity Doo Dah." Mio's been doing her best to ignore them while going about her business, both inside the Kashtta and around Chicago, but the urge has been growing throught the day to just pull her gun out of her purse and shoot them all.
