The angel is sitting in a park. This, in and of itself, is not terribly surprising. What is surprising is that it's not actually Grant Park or any of the affiliated parks; it's actually a tiny little park with nothing more than a small playground on one end and some scraggly trees.
It's the park he was in when he finally got ahold of Gladys. She came to meet him here. It only seems fitting that he ask her to meet him here again when he's considered his options and decided that maybe this time he'll let her--
But if he thinks about it too long, the panic starts fluttering in his chest again. So he's just going to sit here on the swingset and chainsmoke again, and think about just about anything other than the reason why he's here.
A couple of times he toys with the idea of going back to the house Jessi's let him stay in. He still has the key in his pocket. Or he could just leave town. Sure, he doesn't have any money, not really, but he's survived like that before. It's getting warmer. Or he could just go back to Grant Park.
Or he could just sit here, waiting nervously in a cloud of smoke on a bench. Like he do.
