There were lights flashing on and off everywhere. Some of them bright red, some of them like flashing strobes. It was difficult to manage trying to crash land a TARDIS in this pathetic body, especially as it was starting to overload again. She would have to take some of the tonic again, to see if maybe she could stave it off a little bit longer.
The Rani wasn't entirely sure she'd regenerate if she lost this body. After all, she wasn't a Time Lady. She was just a Time Lady trapped inside a - ugh - human body. The idea of it was so disgusting, but it was better than dying in the Time War. No, scratch that. Perhaps she could take her chance with that. There was still a chance she could reverse the timeline. Help the Time Lords win, even if they didn't deserve it.
Except it is too late for any of that. What was done is done. She can't get back in the Time Lock, even if she honestly wanted to. So she is stuck in this primitive life form's body for now. She can deal.
There is a sudden thud, and the lights flicker, going out entirely this time. Well, that's just great. At least she probably managed to get off that backwater planet for now.
The Rani opens the door to her TARDIS, staring out at a landscape that is most certainly still Earth. She manages to push back the impulse to slam the door shut and do anything to get back towards Earth. In fact, she manages long enough to notice that her TARDIS has changed shape. Into a rather familiar blue box, actually.
"I don't seem to recall putting those settings into effect," she grumbles, pressing a hand to her forehead. "Tacky, really."
