There is a young girl skipping through Grant Park. She has a wireless PS3 controller in one hand. The other hand, she holds up close to her face, the distorted doll heads on her fingers letting off some pretty serious psychic disturbance. To some, it might seem like indistinct chattering. Others might hear distinct words, but the language is likely to be undecipherable either way. It doesn't keep the girl from giggling at the words.

She flops back on the grass, taking the controller and flopping back in the snow. She holds the controller over her head, staring up at the sky. "Nope, not like that!" she says irritably. She turns the controller on. "Half circle forward full circle back square."

The words are sing songy as she fiddles with the joystick. Reality seems to shift for a moment, things splitting and then piecing back together, the moment repeating. "Countered. So not fair. You play so defensively. Never take any risks. Ach!"

She actively button mashes, the sky fritzing for a second. "BEST TWO OUT OF THREE!" she demands to the sky. "You cheated anyway." Vasumati is pretty sure this universe always cheats.

040798-332 is watching Mati play video games with the universe silently. It's not like we is worried that trouble will come. Mati can take care of herself. But Mati is also our "Friend" and 040798-332 has learned that "Friends" watch their "Friends" play video games sometimes.

In the basement of the Conrad there is a little girl who is supposed to be on bed rest in the Gauche playing Street Fighter IV in the common room. Tabitha doesn't seem much difference between flopping on the sofa here and staying cooped up in her room back at the Gauche. Well, there's the whole getting to the Conrad thing, but her dad sent her way too many cookies again.

So she had to come to the Conrad.

Near Biosys International's headquarters, Jessi is dead asleep in a coffee shop. She's snoring quietly, her face in the cream cheese of the bagel she was going to claim to Kaden she ate. This is obviously the healthiest way to catch up on sleep debt.

Kittentits is blowing things up. She got her hands on some bombs and has planted them in buildings. Mostly buildings that don't have people in them. Kind of. Really, she just wants to see things crash and burn.

So that's why she's laying down in the middle of a burning building, watching it crash down. God, that's fucking beautiful.

Peyton is at work, wondering what the hell happened to the shipment of explosive she was supposed to be getting. She's going through her paperwork, trying to see if the got the drop wrong. Working late suck.

Ash leans against the threshold, looking at her going through the filing cabinets. She sips a cup of coffee slowly, just watching for now. If Peyton asks for help, she'll give it. But she's pretty sure that's not going to happen.
