Long before she headed home, Elizabeth was in Grant Park, participating in the snowball fight.

She will throw a snowball at anyone that passes whether she knows them or not. If they walk toward her yelling, she'll throw another snowball and tell them to be happy! It's almost Christmas time! There may even be singing involved sometimes. Whatever it takes to get them in a Christmas spirit and stop them from yelling.

So far she has managed to charm or piss off most of the people annoyed by her throwing a snowball at them until they left. She's pretty confident in her ability to continue to do that.

Aaron's already in the middle of a snowball war. It's a very complicated game that he's playing with a group of middle school students that he decided to befriend with tactics and all the other people in the park acting as civilians and anyone who isn't part of the game who dares attack them while they're running around, hiding behind trees and engaging in tactical warfare should consider themselves recruited.

Aaron gets smacked by one of Elizabeth's stray snowballs while he's scouting. There's a cry of delight from the middle schoolers in his envoy and he immediately trots over to Elizabeth. "Sorry, Liz, but you've been drafted," he grins.

Elizabeth stands up when he approaches. She's holding a snowball in her gloved hand and smiling at him though she looks like she's considering lobbing this one at his head. Elizabeth doesn't play on teams. She just plays.

"And who says I wanna be on your team, sensei? I could totally take... all of you..." She trails off, wrinkling her nose and shaking her head as she realizes how many kids are following him around. "Okay. Maybe not. What's the game plan? And ma-a-a-an, the army must be desperate if it's recruiting middle schoolers." She lifts her brows and lets out an exaggerated sigh. "What's the world coming to these days?"

"It's warfare, Elizabeth!" Aaron says, with slight indignation. His tiny army of middle schoolers tumble over each other in the snow and come up behind Aaron. All of them look like they've been pretty well-beat by the other side, given the amount of snow on their clothes... Or maybe that's just from where they've been ducking and rolling and not really caring if they get wet ( ... )

Elizabeth is just going to try not to laugh while he explains his gameplan to her. She's not really good at hiding laughter though so most of it's out loud anyway. It's usually far too easy around people she's known so long to remember that she's not the same. It's like a heavy weight in her chest, a constant reminder that parts of herself are separate and they're not seeing it all.

For some reason, Aaron makes it easy for her to forget about all of that. Maybe because training requires a certain amount of time with one another that's solid and hasn't changed even after the plagues. He doesn't make it as easy as Josef does, but he makes it easier than anyone else for her to relax and not feel guilty for feeling happy.

"I'm so glad I have you in my life, sensei, to teach me about The Matrix and what a big mystery it is," she says with a sideways smile as she takes a look at the man that he's pointed out. "He totally is. I mean, look at that suit. Who does he think he's fooling ( ... )

"I know, right?" Aaron grins, practically pouncing that she's actually taking part. He may be well in his fifties, but he acts like a teenager ( ... )

Elizabeth takes hold of his hand and squeezes it tightly as she falls down on her knees next to his collapsed body. Who cares about getting her jeans wet? The leader has been shot in the back of the head. She gives the General Patton an over exaggerated jaw drop and shakes her fist in his general direction to properly express her grief-rage at having lost their leader ( ... )

Aaron is practicing his death throes, while the children just look on in somber horror (although the somber part is called into question just by the fact that they keep bursting into giggles).

"Oh God, I see the light," he says, squeezing Elizabeth's arm a little tighter and falling into what is a very comical southern accent. "I can see my mama! MAMA, I'M COMING HOME." He pauses, going wide-eyed. "What's that mama? It ain't my time." He drops the accent, "....Well, that changes everything!"

He jumps up, dragging Elizabeth with him and grabs a snowball from a kid nearby who was gearing up to avenge their fallen leader and hurls it at Child!Patton's face.

"IN A WORLD WHERE NO MAN IS EVER REALLY DEAD AND NEVER REALLY ALIVE, ONE MAN IS THE... Oh fuck it. Grasshopper, man the artillery. We're goin' to war!" He's already reaching down to grab more snow and ball it up.

Elizabeth tried her best to look somber and full of horror, but she's no better than the children because she keeps bursting into giggles, too. Even when he's dragging her along with him, she'd be fighting more with the snowballs but she can't stop laughing. She really can't remember the last time that she had so much happiness so freely, so without guilt gnawing at her heart without Josef being around.

"Have you always played with snow like this?"

She falls on her knees next to him, laughing so hard that her stomach hurts. It feels really, really good even if it's really hard to form a snowball this way. She manages after a second, lobbing her snowball at Child!Patton, too... in case the one to the face hasn't taken him down. And as soon as there's a break from snowball throwing, she'll turn to him with a bright smile. "Oh, sensei, you're the best. Seriously."

"Hell yes!" He laughs, kneeling down to join her and to get more artillery while the child scream and holler and attack each other without them. "This is the only good thing about being raised by a bunch of Irish-Catholic archangels in Boston. We take snowball fighting seriously."

Except for where this isn't taking it seriously at all.

He grins. "You're not too bad yourself, grasshopper." He plonks a snowball on her head and starts running after the other kids, whooping and hollering with the best of them. This is how you recover from plague suck. Seriously.

"Uh-huh. When I said if you always did this, I didn't mean serious snowball throwing. I meant the crazy, elaborate... play within real life thing you got going on here," Elizabeth says waving her hands as she frantically tries to explain it before someone can lob a snowball at her.

She tries to form extra snowballs since she's not laughing for once! But it's hard when her hands are consumed with talking.

"It's very... cool and dorky. Mostly cool though just like you." And that makes her wink at him. She's not that good of a winker so it looks a tad bit spazztic but it's the thought that counts, right ( ... )

AND AARON BARNAM GOES DOWN. Possibly because he let her tackle him. ...It's only fair. He laughs hysterically, despite the fact that he's getting snow all down the back of his shirt and it's freezing, but he's an angel. He's used to cold. Cold is normal"I'M HIT, I'M HIT!" Aaron yells. His tiny army has finished chasing the other kids back down towards the trees to recooperate and seeing a new mission ahead promptly come running, tackling Elizabeth and driving Aaron further into the snowbank, still cackling ( ... )

Elizabeth would move to help him with the kids but she's laughing too hard. Sometimes she gets snow in her mouth, and she yelps in protest because who knows where that snow has been but other than that... she's filled with laughter.

It's a snowbank of two angels and a bunch of kids flailing about with laughter.

She squeals and eventually rolls out from the bank, lying in the snow and staring up at the sky above. At this point, she's just trying to catch her breath.

Phoebe has decided Elizabeth needs fountains and fountains of her wisdom.

In the shape of lingerie and talks of sex.

Phoebe will not let her be disappointed.

"I come in peace!" she announces as she skips over to Elizabeth, raising her hands in mock surrender.

Elizabeth drops her snowball when she sees the angel. She smiles and gets to her feet, running over to her. There's a moment where she wonders if it'll be weird. No one that she knows... knows that she has had sex except Josef. And the reasons he knows are because he's the one having it with her so that doesn't really count.

It doesn't seem to be weird though. Phoebe didn't seem like the judgmental sort over the journals, and she didn't in person either which is probably why she ended up asking her for advice.

"Phoebe!" Her smile brightens as she gets closer, and she... ends up hugging her. Tight. It's nice to not be the only one that knows that her cherry has been popped. "Hi!"

Phoebe is most like the least judgmental person on this planet. Unless you are emo, or wear shoulder pads, or haven't seen movies she deems as important for your cultural history and all around well being.

Elizabeth is set, then.

"Ohai thar!" Phoebe says with a grin. She eagerly returns the hug. She is a very tactile person, Phoebe Donovan. You give her a hand and she'll cling to your side for life, most likely.

"Holy Chubaka and the teeth of a plowed faerie, it's cold! You been here long?"
