footpaths, highways, and concrete sidewalks

Eilir steps off a bus in downtown Chicago, loaded with a single large duffel and  a carry-case for her bow and quiver. She's been away from the city for several weeks, but finally decided to try civilization again, and to see if anyone has found a way to send wanders home. She's been in the back woods of northern Wisconsin trying to teach survival skills to civilians. It was good to be working, and it gave credence  to the identity she was trying to build, but it wasn't home. Chicago was even more unfamiliar. Eilir had left town without a word when the alienation became unbearable, but now she was more comfortable with the reigning age of technology.

Before she left, Eilri had been living in the Kashtta, if she doesn't find a hostel or something, she may end up back there. But first, coffee.

So there's a woman walking around Chicago in boots and cargo pants, toting all her earthly posessions, searching for a coffee shop, or at least a gas station.
