Someone is down in the Kashtta's piano room, very quietly playing Debussy's Clair de Lune.
It's one of the first songs he mastered as a child. It's also something he hasn't played in decades, but you probably wouldn't be able to tell.
This has happened before, he thinks, fingers moving gently (and a bit cautiously) against the keys. He remembers it. He's seen it. Something's different about it this time, though, and there is something he doesn't remember: people can hear him.
The piano room isn't what brought him down to the first floor, however - Silent Hall is. Yes, Juliet and numerous others warned him about it and yes, they all said to not go near it. Yes, Dan is occasionally a fool with no regard for his own safety, but he didn't go inside, and that is the important thing. He just looked at it for a little while, then caught sight of the piano out of the corner of his eye.
(And thank goodness for that.)
