Namely, she decided, while Rose was dozing on the couch after supper and John was engrossed in his books, to go out clubbing. After all, Rose has been so tied up doing that tedious 'work' thing (waitressing in a little diner down the street - it's not there anymore, incidentally), and then she gets home and she wants to snuggle with that beau of hers.
And who would ever peg her for a Wanderer, anyway?
So, she snuck out of the flat Rose and John share and had a good time drinking and dancing at a nearby club. She leaves reluctantly when Rose gets so loud and insistent that she can't enjoy herself anymore.
"Oh, ta," she mutters to herself as she starts down the mostly-empty street. "Love to have my night out ruined, couldn't ask for better."
