Looks like we're in for nasty weather, one eye is taken for an eye...

A black SUV pulls up in front of the gates to the Main Gauche. (It does not have the word "Torchwood" on the side of it, but that's possibly just a matter of time.) Sam doesn't even bother actually parking it anywhere in particular, just stops it there, jumps out of the car, and runs to the... closed and locked gates. "Damn ( Read more... )

Luckily(?) for Sam, Jeremy's out and wandering around, and he's not going to let little things like gunshot wounds stop him. So when Sam calls out, Jer saunters over, raising an eyebrow at Sam.

"Tyler. Didn't expect to see you here..."

No, he's not letting Sam in just yet. He's a shit. Also, cautious, and when Jack chided Sam about face-stealing people in front of him... Well, Jeremy does learn from others' mistakes.

Sam is not in a mood for this right now, but he manages to hold back a noise of frustration and rein his tone in to something polite, if a little strained. "I need to speak to Elashte or Jack. Would you mind letting me in?"

"Mmm. Love to, but one question first: what was Harkness chiding you about when we first met?"

Yes, he expects an answer, and the answer to that question alone would be the reason why.

Sam does growl now, rattling the gate again. "Oh, for..." He rolls his eyes, glaring at Jeremy like he's contemplating reaching through the gate to strangle him. "I didn't check that it was him and not Hart. Open the gate now, please." He grates out that last word, so it's more of an order than a request. But then, he can probably be forgiven for that. Archangels on their way to start a war will stress a person out.

"Give the man a prize." Jeremy opens the gate, then turns abruptly, beckoning for Sam to follow. "Unless you've got a whole fuckin' hornets' nest up your ass all the time, I'm gonna guess this isn't a social call, so let's start with El's office, shall we?"

He's already leading the way.

Sam sighs and follows, swinging the gate shut behind him. He's just not going to bother responding to that, just follow quietly and wish desperately that Martin had given them some sort of time frame here. But that's not the way their luck works.

Jeremy's also being quiet (for once) as he leads Sam to the office. This feels like something serious enough that he's just going to set a brisk pace and save the snark for when he knows what's going on.

It's only when he gets close enough to El's door to see that it's just slightly off its hinges that he bothers saying anything.

"...oh, fuck."

Sam freezes, staring at the door for a moment, and then moves forward quickly so he can see inside the room, eying the door off the hinges, taking in the room like a crime scene. "Elashte's office, I assume." He doesn't have to ask. Jeremy's response is really enough.

"Your powers of deduction amaze me, Tyler." Jeremy curses under his breath. "Great. So. We want Harkness or Malek, or even fucking Eric. They're all close to Elashte, might know what's going on. He's got a little guardian angel around here, too."

He gives the room one last look... No obvious signs of someone departing. "I'll go look. Stay here or come with, up to you."

Right, a little guardian angel. You mean that 5'8 young woman with a very athletic build, wings flared, and a look of DOOM on her face that's stalking towards you?

Not so little, unless you go by age. This is not sulky angel of sulk. This is Angry Angel Will Fuck You Up And Then You Will Die. Beware, Jeremy.

"Hey, you two!" she barks. "Either of you see Jack Harkness in the past ten minutes?"

Sam blinks a little at the wings and the expression. This is encouraging. "I haven't. I came here to find him, actually." Tell me what's going on.

Tay does not lose any momentum, and it honestly looks like she intends to just plow through them, except that she doesn't look away from Sam, and when she comes about even with him, she grabs the front of his shirt with one hand and thumps him firmly (but not too hard - she's not going to hurt him) against the wall.

"You. Tell me why Harkness attacked my boss and how he disappeared from the scene without a trace. Now."

Sam blinks at her for a moment in confusion. Jack did what? He considers shoving her away, but she's an angel and could probably break him. Instead, he just grimaces and answers, "I don't know. I came to tell him that there's an army of archangels headed here now." He'll worry about Jack later. Priorities.

Tay just stares at Sam for a second, trying to figure out if he's fucking with her or not. But then, why would he?

Great. So Romana's decided to wage war tonight, of all nights, and there's no way Tay can step aside and just let that happen. For one thing, there are people in the Gauche who don't deserve to be killed, non-demons (and even Piper, really, demon though she may be). For another... they don't have a leader right now. El wasn't exactly a warrior, but she was giving him information, and he could've led them well enough with that. But now he's out of commission and Jack has apparently turned on them or something and is gone and that pretty much puts her in the position to be the best person to run a defense against Romana and her archangels. Her.

Tay lets go of Sam's shirt and leans forward to thump her head against the wall a couple of times. "Just." thump "Fucking." thump "Perfect." thump

"Goddamn motherfuck--" No, Jer is not a happy demon. "Okay. Who've we got who can mount a defense? You got special angel training for that, kid? 'cause I'm gonna assume right now that you don't much want El to get wasted, and if you're this up in arms about an attack, I'm also gonna assume that El's out of commission. So who does that leave? You, me, Tyler..." He nods at Sam. "I'm gonna take a wild guess you've got some ideas or Harkness wouldn't have left you in charge of Torchwood." A quick look at Tay. "And whatever Harkness may have done or not, archangels are nobody's friends right now."

This is about the time where Piper and her little entourage find them. Thankfully, one of the women seems to need to talk to Sam (assassination? Great...), so Tay takes the opportunity to talk to Jeremy.

"I'm a hunter, not a commander," she says reluctantly. "I think... if you can get some people together from the building as many as you can, good fighters, armed, that would be good. Um. Everyone else should get in the tunnels." God, she needs Buffy right now. For moral support, if nothing else. "If you run into a kid named Roland with these two guns on him at all times, send him down to the tunnels to help keep those people safe in case the angels get down there, okay?" She glances back over at Sam and crew. "I'll deal with them. Keep everybody inside the complex, and at the ready."

She pauses, and gives him a vague smile that's not really a smile at all. "Thanks."
