Several people are having a Very Bad Day.
Nate is in the kitchen, sitting at the table in the back where he and Mat used to hide out before they got their wards. Sulking is not what he's doing. He's just... thinking. Very, very sulkily. There are several people he'd like to hurt now. Of course, considering one of those people is a First Angel, one

It's not that it makes him more calm. It just makes him more uncomfortable, keeps him more occupied, and leaves him feeling too lost to properly react to much of what's happened down here.
His wings aren't out. His wings are never out. Always denying what he is.
"Grace?" He says her name as if he's sighing in relief It's possible that he is. There are very few people he could stand being near right now. "How is she?"

Then he turns his attention back to her, looking at her more closely now that he's got the basic question out of the way.
Robin reaches out to touch her arm, softly, raising his eyebrows. Obviously with as long as he's been with Romana, he's seen her in many frightening modes. He's not sure if any of those times could compete with what he heard about this last time, however, but it could just be exagerration. It's easier to judge seeing it for himself than through the mouths of others.
Still it's not difficult to remember how daunting it can be that first time, though.

Yes, she knows he's not talking about whether she's fine physically. But Grace isn't good with other people looking after her. Mostly, she looks after other people.

"Yes, but still..." He twirls a hand in the air, some vague gesture that seems to imply more than he can put to words, which makes this all the more difficult. Robin lets out a breath. "You were there for it, right? The attack part of it, too, correct?"

No, scratch that, she's pretty damn far from comfortable with it. She's really had enough of war to last a lifetime, and would rather not have another happen where she lives.

He's asking her more for her own benefit than his.
He would follow Romana no matter what she did (almost) so hearing the truth won't change much from his perspective if only give him a better idea of how much distance he should keep from her. If he should simply fade into the background to take care of things and fetch her food, drink before she has the chance to ask for it.

When Grace is upset, she either tends toward rambling or a lot of short, abrupt sentences. It's a toss up.

"Good. Cause if you were denying a cup of my coffee then I'd have to be seriously worried about you." He winks at her.
Yes, his is better than Starbucks. No... really.
He doesn't allow her anymore room to argue, however. Simply leads her to a table, fixes them both cups of coffee, and returns to the table without another word or moment of hesitation.

As if they were talking about a football game or the weather yesterday.
"Just tell me what you know from your point of view. At least, I know you were there and I trust you. You don't hate Romana like most down here, but you don't follow her blindly either so I think your opinion is the most reliable."

And then it got nasty and complicated, and God, she likes Romana, she doesn't want to think that she would shoot a man just because he stood in her way.
