Several people are having a Very Bad Day.
Nate is in the kitchen, sitting at the table in the back where he and Mat used to hide out before they got their wards. Sulking is not what he's doing. He's just... thinking. Very, very sulkily. There are several people he'd like to hurt now. Of course, considering one of those people is a First Angel, one is his brother's ward, and one is nowhere near here, that's probably not going to happen.
For the first time since Romana and Jack had their showdown in the lobby, Grace has left the medical room, though she'll have to be back soon - the problem with treating First Angels is that over the years, they develop a resistance to most painkillers, sedatives, pretty much any drug you can give them, which means she won't be able to keep Romana sedated much longer.
Right now, though, she's searching the halls, rust-red wings tight against her back, though she's not sure for who. Instinct says to look for Des, make sure he's alright. But conversations with Des are always so awkward and she's not sure she's really up for it now. The larger part of her wants to find Robin and make sure he's okay, or just curl up in a quiet corner somewhere... but that's probably not going to happen.
And Kara isn't even in the hotel anymore. She's in the park. Which, considering what she's just found out, may not be the best idea, but she knows she's safe today. And anyway, she's gone and climbed a tree, and is now curled up in the joint of one of the branches, back pressed against the tree trunk. She's projecting psychic distress pretty indiscriminately - psychics will recognize it for what it is, but quite a few ordinary people passing by get the emotional backlash of it, and walk away feeling angry, or near tears, or...
Distressed psychics with absolutely no control hanging around the park probably isn't the best thing that could happen to Chicago these days.
