In retrospect, there aren't really a whole lot of good painkillers that don't have some side effects, but Juliet's narrowed the choices down to something that's both strong and has a fairly good chance of not causing Sam to want to pass out on the nearest flat surface. Sam opens the door and gives Juliet a quick smile - not entirely sincere, but considering people keep poking at his lie detecting abilities... asking for sincere smiles might be a bit much.

"Juliet. Thank you for coming. Apparently we're not done testing how my Rift ability works."

"I'm really sorry about that," she says as she enters, and she really is sincere about that. It may not be her doing, but still... It's a thing with her.

She holds out the pills like they're a peace offering. "This is the strongest the medical room has. I can't promise it won't make you loopy, but I'm pretty sure you won't pass out unconscious, so there's that anyway."

"That's reassuring," Sam mutters, accepting the pills and studying them for a minute before swallowing them. He glances up at Juliet and raises his eyebrows. "How long until they have an effect? At a guess?"

There's not even a beat before she answers, "Roughly forty-five minutes to an hour, although it depends on the person, so if this works, you're going to want to take them well before it starts, obviously."

She pauses for a moment and quirks a brow, smiling a little. "Now do I have to give you the 'getting addicted to painkillers is a bad idea' lecture or do you think you're going to be okay on that front?"

Oh Juliet. Try not to tick off your new boss and get yourself fired, dear.
