Because the narration is lazy and feeling too ill to switch names, have two characters in one post.

Toast is in the cafeteria, he has secured a corner to himself and brought along a rather large cup of hot cocoa, a folder and small pile of Oreos.

It’s been a while since he’s been around, he’s feeling a bit behind the times, and since sleeping has never been something he’s managed to become good friends with, he finds himself here, scanning over new Rift notes that he hasn’t had the chance to look over yet.

It all worries him just a bit but you’d never guess it from his expression. He looks quite content really,, and for the most part that’s true, but occasionally one hand will start to fidget with the corner of a page folding and twisting it until he manages to tear it off entirely.

Don’t let that stop you though, he’s friendly enough and might even be willing to share his cookies if you ask nicely.

And then there’s Toby, who hasn’t quite managed to fall into proper sleeping patterns yet.

He’s not doing anything in particular, merely wandering the common room, hands stuffed into his pockets as he moves. For the most part he’s become settled in, everything’s unpacked, he’s found a way to watch over his children, but he can’t quite make himself truly comfortable yet.

Not that he would say anything about it of course, oh he wouldn’t dream of such a thing!

Still, as he flops into a chair, eyes drifting around the room before they slide shut, he wonders what his family is doing, if they’re dealing well without him.

If they miss him....
