Weekly Question #18 by Tsuki~

Okay. So for this week's question, I personally feel like people can connect to the answer, but at the same time, I think it'll make you guys think. It's a question that's been on mind for a while now.

What kind of person do you see Nino as through his song lyrics?

If you can, try to forget the things he says in interviews and how he presents himself on TV. Try to stick with his own song lyrics if possible. Quote him, praise him, scrutinize what you can, etc.

To me, everything about Nino's lyrics scream to me about 1) love and 2) change. I think he's definitely went through a lot of hardships and obstacles through his life. I believe that no person can possibly write his lyrics without experiencing it head-on, much less put that emotion into his voice. Nino seems mature, yet somehow...young.

"Even though I said it wouldn't matter if everyone in the world was our enemy, what should I do, if I can't even protect your smile?" (Shougai Nani ga Atte mo Aisuru Hito e) He was seventeen when he wrote those lyrics. But still... "So stay beside me forever ,and if you still feel like your heart is about to shatter, just tell me. I'll keep holding you forever. Keep smiling only at me forever." Young. I get a (very) small feeling that maybe it was during this time in which Nino thought...love could solve almost anything.

"I'm wasting my time and deceiving myself." (Regress of Progress) This brings me back to the point of change. Through his lyrics, you can kind of seen a changing theme in his lyrics. "There's only the incurable loneliness you left me with in the end." Pain, suffering, regret, and any synonyms of those words start to appear in some of his solos.

"The truth is, I'm afraid that if I let go, you'll disappear." (Kako) Seems quite different from Shougai, no? But in the midst of this feeling of loss and hurt, I feel as if Nino's able to see both sides of the coin.

"Our steps light, laughing together. If the two of us can be invincible, it's okay; we can go anywhere." (Rakuen) "The rainbow is beautiful. No, you're the beautiful one..." (Niji) Nino gives me a feeling of strength; that no matter what he goes through, he's going to come out okay, somehow. People tend to think that he's pessimistic, snarky. I don't. I think he's strong and continues to aim for tomorrow, that even if the sky's completely cloudy, the sun is still out there somewhere. He's definitely not the "ohemgee, don't worry! Everything will be okay, girlfranddd" type. (I'm exaggerating. Shoot me.) He knows what pain feels like; he knows there's a possibility that everything can shatter at any given moment, but even then, I think he still has that dangling string of hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

So that's my answer for now. I'll probably come back to edit it later, seeing how it's getting late. Feel free to answer in any form you like. Whether if it's completely opposite as mine or along the same line does not matter. What matters is your opinion and thoughts. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
