I realised you bloggers have no idea who I am, I say this because I haven't demonstrated my love for the love of my life (next to Katie) - music. So tonight, I thought I'd give you a list of songs I have listened to in the last hour.
10.) Stay Young - Save Your Breath featuring The Blackout's Sean Smith:
At ten is the upbeat anthem for teens losing a friend to the life of adulthood. I have been listening to this band since I found out they were replacing The Audition at the gig I'm attending tomorrow, so I've only had a week of listening to this awesome band. I loved them as soon as I went on their myspace in a panic after one of my favourite bands cancelled on me. Yes, on me.
9.) Love In This Club - The Summer Set:
Still firmly in my most played tracks is this amazing cover. The video here is a compilation of clips from a day with my old band Fields of Grief (they're pretty good, go check them out). The Summer Set aren't very popular, which I find astounding - so they're perfect for those of you who like to claim the artists nobody's heard of, so then you can say "OMG LOOK WHAT I FOUND ALL ON MY OWN."
The video features all my own work, filmed on my little iPod, and it just shows the crazy antics my boys and I got up to. As you can see, we're clearly extremely rebellious...
8.) He's Just Not Me - Artist Vs Poet:
I am expecting big things for this band. I heard them a while back, when they were on my youtube related videos. Their new album 'Favourite Fix' hit the scene early this year, holding a selection of infectious electro-poprock tunes and lyrics that are worth quoting. This particular song is my current favourite, I find myself listening to it daily on repeat. It's just a refreshing change, it's so nice and easy to listen to.
7.) Aha! - Imogen Heap:
The video appears to be the work of a college student, I think it's pretty cool. I've always loved Imogen Heap, and this song is so addictive. It's perfect to listen to if you wanna have a go at fast-tune-talking and you're in a bit of a weird mood. Immi's lyrics are always amazing, and if you are new to this iconic work of art, you should check her out pronto. Jason Derulo uses a sample from Hide and Seek in one of his silly little songs, personally, I think he ruined it.
6.) You Gotta Believe - The Rocket Summer:
Feel free to break out your happy dance when you hear this feel-good tune. I'm going to see Bryce tomorrow at the o2 Academy, Liverpool. I've been a fan of his for approximately 3/4 years. His music is inspirational and is certain to put you in a good mood. His latest album 'Of Men and Angels' sets high goals and appears to be conquering all the steps it needs to take. In my opinion, 'Do You Feel' was a much better album, but they're both worth listening to. In fact, check out the entire discography, he's one talented dude.
5.) Do You Feel - The Rocket Summer:
Okay, two in a row. I do apologise, but I love this guy. I should also apologise for the sound quality, but the video is the important part. In this video, you can spot some pretty awesome people, besides Bryce Avary. It features Jeremy and Josh of Paramore, which we all know, are a definite win on my part. Where's Hayley? I have no idea. The best person in the video is clearly Matt Thiessen, the God of Christian Rock. He is the lead singer of my favourite band (Relient K) and his appearance MAKES this video. I advise you to download some Relient K tunes, some are about the love of our God, so you should cover your ears if you don't believe in Jesus. I do, as you can tell.
4.) Bed Rock - Young Money:What can I say? I am in love with this track. Li'l Wayne is loved, by me at least. This tune features one of the best chat-up lines going, I don't really have to point it out. The Young Money crew holds some of the brightest rising stars to keep your eye on. Nicki Minaj is a definite win, give her a listen, she'll love you for it. The Young Money album is really good, but not for the faint hearted. It states "explicit content"... well, it's an understatement.
3.) Purr like a Cat - T. Mills:
Mills is one of my favourite artists. I can't deny it, I adore his music. I'd say he was in my top 5, I reckon at number 4. Shameful, I know. Anyway, he got swagggaaa, and this song is another of his "I'm so cool, I have sex, I go to parties" kind of tunes. I honestly think he's the coolest guy ever. His lyrics make me smile, like I'm about to laugh - they're both comical and smart. Of course, I don't see his music as a joke, there are appropriate times to laugh. There aren't many in this song, but it features him singing, which we don't really hear too often. It's new, and it's another winner. Check it out boiiiii.
2.) She's Everything - Select Start
This video makes me laugh so hard. I've ALWAYS loved Select Start, they sent me a myspace message - I was so happy. This song makes me happy, I sing it to my girlfriend alot, but as per, she'll tell me to shut up because she's not my bitch. You should definitely download their latest album, it's perfect for summer. They are an amazing band, so amazing infact that a song of theirs is my ringtone, and another is in the TBHM script. Maybe another, I haven't decided. All you hardcore nerds should fall head over heels for them.
1.) Blame it on Me - Parachute
Save the best 'til last! If this song doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will. Parachute have toured with The Script, why they're not as famous as they should be, is beyond me. Alot of their songs make me want to get up and dance and sing like a typical teenage girl. I've been listening to this song so much in this summer weather to put a smile on my face, you should too.
So then, that's it - your guide to my summertime tunes.
My top ten varies like every hour, so it's not a permanent thing at all. Check out the tracks, go to gigs, download music, read my blog.
That's all folks.
