When we bought the house I made several mental notes about the landscaping abilities of the former owners.
The woman had very...I don't want to say poor taste, but strange is a good term.
I have desperatly wanted to cut down the oleander in the back yard (because for one I think I am allergic to it, and two, it looks incredibly out of place where it is) and the pomposs grass as well (becuase it is ugly and attracts roaches)
But those are both husband projects, and as he just ripped up the dead bushes around the electrical dslam, I am not pushing it.
There is one other thing I want to rid myself of.
There is this bush thing in the front yard by the sidewalk.
It took me the longest time to realize it was even on my property and not the neighbors. It is an incredible eyesore. I think it is supposed to be some sort of flowering bush, in fact we have a huge one on the side of the house thatis actually quite lovely. This one however is scraggly and a bit shriveled, and obviously is not a direct sunlight plant as it has never had more than one or two very pathetic blooms on it.
We told all our neighbors our intent to cut it down when we had time and tools to do so.
They were excited as it really is just that ugly.
So a few months ago Jessie's mom lent us a chainsaw, but it required an extension cord, which we did not have.
So about a month ago, Jessie bought an extension cord.
We have not had time since then (when it would not randomly rain on us) to cut the thing down, but today was the planned day.
The ugly bush was going to go to plant heaven.
Only when Jessie went out to start the yard work he discovered that he would be unable to cu down the ugly bush, as our new neighbor had already had his lawn service do it for us.
We are fairly sure that the guy knew the bush was on our property and not his, as Jessie had discussed planning on cutting it down.
I mean I don't care that he cut the thing down, I am actually very excited. The difference it made to the front yard is amazing.
I am so pleased.
And we are not out any money or labor to rid ourselves of it.
I wonder if he could be persuaded to make his lawn service cut down my two back yard problems too?
Nah got to keep the husband busy somehow.
