How much can happen in two weeks? Feels like a lifetime and a half! This time two weeks ago I was in the foyer in my school, taking photos of everybody in their gorgeous ballgowns and smart tuxedos. Pictures will be posted just as soon as I can get hold of the school ones which are better quality, and work out how to upload them successfully, which doesn't often happen, hehe. The ball itself was okay, we arrived late due to some trauma with Abi + Emma having remarkably similar dresses on and not wanting to arrive together. But we finally made it, and the meal was nice. It was turkey plus trimmings, and I was on a lovely table with about five of us plus a selection of teachers who hadn't been able to sit anywhere else! Had a nice chat with some of them though. It's a shame that I wasn't really in the party mood so didn't go through to the lecture theatre where they'd set up the disco thing, but stayed outside, as mentioned before, taking photos and talking. We walked over to the CI later on, which at forst was awful because it was so hot and crowded and I didn't even really want to be there. But by about 1am it must have been, I realised I would have to make the decision to enjoy myself because I was stuck there until Abi decided she wanted to go home and it was the last time I would see some of those people! So after that things got a lot better and I have to admit, not a great deal happened, but it was fun! We didn't get back to Abi's till about 4:30, so slept from 5-7, and got up for a full day in Leicester on Saturday!
I'm going to be a leader at M-Powered! For those of you who don't know, MPowered is a summer camp that I've been to every year (except last year) since I was 13, and it has radically changed my life- it woke me up the first year that I was there to really know God for myself and since then has played such a big part in making me who I am, both through positive and negative experiences I guess, but it's been great. And this year I'm leading! That Saturday was a training day for the leaders and it has made me so much more appreciate everything that they have put in for me over the years, one of the key ideas was that everything is to give the 'young people' the best possible expeience they can have, and the sacrifices that have been made for that cause from individuals are immense. That is quite possibly the worst constructed sentence I have ever written but I'm too tired to sort it now, and you catch my drift. That week is going to be so, so exhausting, but so, so, so worthwhile, I really cannot wait!
I haven't had time for the 'D of E and Strange Happenings' yet but they will come tomorrow hopefully, they are two more epics in themselves, so be warned! Night night sleep tight, don't let the bugs bite!
