It's been a few weeks since I last updated. I wish I could say it's because I've been doing incredibly interesting things that have kept me ridiculously busy..but that's not entirely true. I've been working as a substitute just about every single day of each week since the schools here started up after Christmas break. I'm loving it! I love the flexibility that comes with the job and I am definitely loving being able to see a different school, different grade level, different classroom, and different students each day. I'm having a lot of fun and keeping my fingers crossed for all of this substituting to lead to some job offers when this school semester is over. I did recently get offered a long-term substitute position starting in February and going through the end of the school year, but I wound up turning it down. I loved the school and it was a kindergarten classroom (which I also love) but I would've been co-teaching with another teacher. It was a fantastic opportunity and I'm so glad that they asked me, but I'd rather keep doing things the way I'm doing now - or be placed long-term in a classroom by myself.

Other than that, I don't really guess anything too terribly exciting as been going on. Last night I watched the Golden Globes with Emma, Patrick, and Pluto on stickam and then we wound up staying awake until 4-ish. That was way more fun than it should've been, haha. Tomorrow I'm substituting in a first grade classroom, Wednesday I'll be in kindergarten, and Friday I'll be in kindergarten - so now I just need to find a job for Thursday and I'll be set! Should be another fun week.

Also: It is because of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that I'm standing here today - so I definitely have to acknowledge the role that he has played in the life that I'm able to lead today. He dared to dream and he stood for hope, changing the world along the way. "Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

equality, flawless four, golden globes, work, teaching, substituting, dr. martin luther king jr.
