i was writing a post for my blog today and trying to find a post i'd written here a couple years ago, which led to me rereading a lot of old journal entries, which led to me thinking / wondering about why i don't really use a journaling site anymore. i don't know-- i think over the years i've withdrawn from LJ/DW as a community space, i think (? it ( Read more... )

I for one would be interested in the story of How You Left LUSH. Everything you blogged about the (the company, at least) was so exciting and positive. What happened (as if that's not a loaded question).

Also, I hear you about a more laid-back style of RP. Back when I started online (like a million years ago) there was this idea of RPing that went around that's... sort of hard to explain? I'll try. There is a setting. Everybody has a character. You write stories about your character. Long soliloquies and introspection are encouraged. The tricky part is that when I started playing, internet chat wasn't really a thing yet. The challenge was writing interesting and true-to life character interactions without waiting approx a million years to hash everything out by email. So basically we wrote each others' characters. Not a lot, not in depth, but we sort of... borrowed them, I guess? writing the piece from our own characters' POV. And then your partner writes back and kind of covers things from their POV? IDK, it was, looking back, really more like a collaborative writing project than an RP, but it was what we did and it was fun. Maybe that's more of a direction to look in? Some kind of collaborative writing thing where you can always jump in and write something when you have time, and when you don't other people will still be moving things along, or if no one has any ideas you can just pause for a while without the whole thing falling down?

I would totally be down for joining something like that if you wanted to do a thing.

Nice to see you around these parts again. :D
